The funny thing is, how in the heck are they supposed to build this great defense when Daks taking up so much of the salary cap. How are they supposed to build a great running game when he is hogging all the money.

I guess you don’t remember how much Romo got paid. Jerry paid Romo near Peyton Manning money for a guy who delivered 2 wild card wins in ten years (defense should take its share of the blame too and same in the Dak era). The best QBs are always the highest paid and Dak will command top five salary.

Also keep in mind Jerry has always spent more money on the offensive side of the ball.

You’re totally wrong! Dak played one of his best games against Tampa in the opener on the road a few years ago and our defense couldn’t hold off Brady with the game on the line. Dak played well against Aaron Rodgers in the playoffs in 2016, passing for over 300 yards and 3 TDs but our defense choked in the final seconds. Dak out played Jared Goff in the playoffs but our defense got steamrolled. I’m not asking the defense to be the 85 Bears or the 2000 Ravens but it’s going to take a great defense similar to what we had in the 70s and 90s for us to win another championship.

Dak has only played well in 2 playoff games, his rookie year against the Packers, and Tom Brady's last game in Tampa. In the playoff game against the Rams, Dak was very inconsistent and didn't sustain long drives which wore out the defense who couldn't stop the run.

Dak was responsible for both playoff losses against the Niners, when the defense played very well and he had a great set of receivers.

Wouldn't even say he played that well against the Packers in 16'. Face value stats once again. Didnt look good at all for 3 quarters outside that long pass to Dez in the 2nd. Down 3 scores entering the 4th quarter and didn't get anything going until the INT by the defense before the offense started to click. He did play great in the 4th but was to little to late.

Was more consistent during the Rams game but wouldn't of mattered who was back there. Literally got ran over

They controlled the ball for 34 minutes and dominated us in the trenches. I already posted that our defense played respectable against them in 2022. That’s the only playoff game we lost under Dak where the defense played respectable.

He had three turnovers. he did not play well in that first Packers playoff game.

Considering the fact that Romo was only due to Sean Payton and Parcells (and Romo’s own dedication and hard work), it’s been Troy Aikman and just a crapshoot.

For some reason this era we just haven’t invested our draft resources . Mainly because of an undrafted and 4th rounder falling into our laps.

Morton- 1st round pick
Staubach- Heisman and would have been 1st round if not for Navy service
Aikman- overall 1st pick

White- was a 3rd round pick which back then was 53rd overall. Begun his QB career in WFL and then Dallas as punter for 4 years before taking over after Roger retired.

At least in 2002 we used a 2nd round pick on Carter which he fizzled out with drug problems. But that’s our highest use of investment for a QB this Century. Unbelievable!!

they are just as bad as the Dak Bots. Our D sucked a basketball through a garden hose. Dak did the same; and bluntly speaking about the only player that really seemed to play well was maybe Ferguson. That game was putrid on all sides. But the point about Dak is that he has played well in only ONE playoff game against a beat up losing TB.
Micah also disappeared; and has done so late in each season so far which I think might be more a case of too many snaps and he gets worn out. IF that is the case then the team is at fault for not managing it. Just speculation on that.

Dak's 2-5. Which playoff games did he play well in where the defense stunk? And don't give me last year's GB game because Dak stunk till the game was out of reach. He stunk in the 49ers games. Even in the first GB game in 2017 he had 3 turnovers.

Yup, the playoff game where our defense held the niners to under 20 was a Heartbreaker......we scored 1 TD in 4 quarters of football. Sad.
