Bucky Brooks: "It's a myth that elite QBs single-handedly carry their teams to wins"

In the playoffs, teams are generally very close in talent level. The difference is more often than not the performance of the quarterback. Dont need to be hyperbolic about it to say KC beat SF specifically because Pat Mahomes was the outlier, not because he was the sole asset to the team.

they get all the credit.
they get all the blame.
they get measured by playoff wins.
they get measured by playoff losses.
they get the big $.
they get the chicks.
its always been that way.
probably always be that way.

Dak fans seek to devalue the importance of the QB position to protect Dak.

Bucky and other Dak fans would be the first to say "Dak won the Super Bowl" if that day ever came (it won't).

There's a reason that 90% of Super Bowls have been won off the backs of great play at the QB position.

This is true . . . . which is why good QB's who are underpaid are largely SB winners. Mahomes, Brady, a bunch of guys on rookie deals, etc. The more money teams have to surround their QB's with talent the more talented the team is. This isn't rocket science.

1. No one has stated that a QB regardless of caliber should single handedly carry a team.
2. Elite QB's do however step up in big moments and make the most of the opportunities they are given - that's what makes them ELITE
This is true.......but "that what makes them ELITE" can be subjective. For example......is the losing QB of the Super Bowl not elite because he threw a game-losing interception?

You didn’t watch the Cowboys defense against GB obviously.

Yeah, Mahomes was so great, he dink and dunked his team to a SB win all game long! Yes, Mahomes is soooo Great and gets worshipped by Dak haters for dink-n-dunking his way to a close won championship game!

Anyone thinking a QB should be able to single-handedly carry their squads to winning isn't the brightest fan around. In fact, anyone who does might even be the dumbest. Anyone with an ounce of football knowledge should be aware of the foolishness of that myth. Even the best of QBs need great support to assure their team of winning. The NFL is far too highly competitive for such foolish expectations to be held as realistic.

No it's not. It's the performance in the trenches. Show me a champion who couldn't stop the run and couldn't run the football.

Funny how the only names thrown around this thread is Mahomes and Brady like Cowboys ever came close to grabbing either of those 2.

Unless we're to expect Cowboys saw something in 3 star high school QB Mahomes that the scouts who had Trubisky and Watson over him didn't see

Mahomes is not on a rookie deal.
