Sorry boys, but I'm not feeling it for Sunday.

1. Dallas was 2-4 last year when facing winning teams...before Packers in playoffs
2. Cleveland had 2nd best defense last year (DVOA rating)
3. The dog pound is loud and emotional & Browns were 8-1 at home last year
4. Guyton facing Myles Garrett in his very first game is too much
5. Dallas has lost 8 of it's last 11 games on grass
6. Cleveland has one of the most complete rosters in NFL
7. First game of season = sloppy. Cleveland can be damp and windy.

Sunday will be mass misery. Sinking despair. Shrill howls in the game threads will burst out to "CUT EVERY PLAYER. FIRE EVERY COACH!"

But later in the season the tone will change...might we rise? Can we rise? Then: "This team is back on track!"

I will add this twist:

If the Cowboys do some how win Sunday it will exceed the quality of any on their 2023 regular season wins...in scale of difficulty.

We beat up weak teams last year, without a single great road performance vs. a top team. A win in Cleveland would spell something very different, if that unlikely event were to occur.

Popcorn anyone for an ugly win?

I think we can win because anything is possible but on any given Sunday. I don’t think we’ll win for the reasons you stated and I’ll add 2 more:
1. Dak or CD didn’t play in the preseason and there’s bound to be some growing pains with rust and new offensive linemen.
2. Bland is out. That’s really going to hurt us.

I’m hoping we win but my expectations are low for this one.

I agree if we do win then our season will look really bright considering it’s a tough team on the road. I desperately want a win to wash the stink off of last year’s playoff game and infuse some confidence in our young guys.

8. Quarterback

Doom and gloom coming early this year
I'm just getting a head start on the game-day-thread folks. Instructing them--as best I'm able-- not to flush the season after early season adversity. They typically are ready to run for the exits in the second quarter of a tough game. Very weak minded.

It's a 17-game season.

Maybe Guyton and Beebe will need time as 2/5 of our re-worked o-line. Maybe Overshown and Liufau will develop at linebacker. Maybe Zimmer's defensive scheme is still new. Maybe things will look better when Bland returns.

First year since the 90’s I didn’t watch a second of preseason. The game isn’t on in Virginia bc it’s up against Washington. I didn’t care enough to buy Sunday Ticket and I’ve made no plans to go out to see the game.

I don’t stop loving football. I have 8th grade football Thursday, HS on Friday, Hokies tickets Saturday, D3 game on Sunday and another 8th grade game Monday.

This offseason just seemed a disaster.

2023 bengals @ browns week 1

Burrow 14/31 82 yards passing hahahah

Mixon 13 carries 56 yards

24-3 browns final score

100% it wasn't a disaster. This team has viable options to fill all the holes left from departing players. The team might even be better.

That said, I applaud those who find better ways to spend their time than watching NFL games, esp. if it's working with youth. Roll with what seems best to make a better world. :)
