Sometimes the best defense is a better offense

When the Saints went up 7-0 in 1st qtr, why is the 60 million Dollar unable to led the offense down the field and make it 7-7? It seems like the one thing that is always overlooked is Dak not being able to led the offense down the field which is giving the other team more momentum. If Dallas goes down and score and makes it 7-7, it puts the pressure back on Derek Carr to respond. Maybe he is not as confident with the score 7-7 versus 7-0 and may not score on next possession. So you dak fans want to keep saying DEFENSE DEFENSE but sometimes the best defense is a better offense and he has shown he doesnt have the talent to respond when the other offense is playng well. So what excuse will Dak fans come up with to explain why Dak led offense cant tie the game when down 7-0?

How many games trailing by 2 scores has Dak come back to win in his career? There may be a few but I can’t remember one.

There are those NFL games called shootouts that you would like to think we could stand a fair chance of competing in.
And not just be an offensive field goal juggernaut.

Oh well...
Go Aubry.
COWBOYS!

lol

I was actually on board with Dak midway through last season….against my better judgement btw. He sorta seemed to turn a corner.

But since then, he’s regressed. When you see a 30+ old player regressing late in the season with no injury concerns, it’s bad. He’ll never have the consistency necessary to win at the highest level. It’s just too unforgiving.

Could it be that after driving to the NO 35 after from their own 21 that a 10 yard holding penalty blew up the drive? Or was it the Rico Dowdle 3 yard run on 1st and 20 that killed the drive? Maybe the 2nd down call for pass pass to Turpin for a 1 yard loss making it 3rd and 21? Dak's fault?

Honestly I am not sure whose fault it was. But I know that trying to score one 15-20 play drives is pretty hard. The more plays, the more likely something goes wrong. But is it Dak? Receivers not getting open? or lousy play calling by McCarthy?

Exactly. 8 years later and someone finally understands what I have been trying to say

Well look, I am no fan of Dak at all. But when your D can't stop anyone, that makes it hard. That is no reason for Dak to throw up his hands and not play well though. He played OK, the one INT was not his fault at all. But at 60 mil a year and the D stinking up the joint, playing OK will not get it done. We needed him to carry the team and he failed, just like he has other times we needed it. That short throw to Zeke for a walk in TD that he missed and the lazy out he almost got Tobert killed on and the 2nd INT with a TE running free, are unforgivable, since he said he was worth 60 mil a year.

The point is he is paid well enough to make the score 7-7. However he can get it done it needs to be done

We couldn't match the Saints score for score. They have a running game; we have a plodding game. They spread the ball among their receivers; we think CeeDee is the only one able to catch the ball.

This isn't going to go over very well for you. Dak could throw 9 pick 6's and the stans would still blame the defense.
