Who is the one player needed to lift this team, one of the lowest scoring teams in the league?
An impact, game wrecking RB, who can score in the red zone as did Tony Dorsett, Herschel Walker, Emmitt Smith and a young Zeke, and who had game-breaking speed.

Just as Juan Soto is a major impacting player, who hits in the clutch, who hits against the best pitchers in baseball, the Cowboys lack the dominating RB who can takeover the game and make the QB's job much easier.

The Boys need Boise State Ashton Jeanty badly, but winning is pushing this union away from reality. Jeanty is Emmitt Smith with breakaway speed. He will improve the passing game. Teams will fear him and he will open up passing lanes. He stands out head over shoulders above any other RB.

Continuing to win this year, we will lose out on Jeanty, Abdul Carter and Mason Graham, guys who can contribute as rookies. If all three are gone, I would pick Ohio State WR burner if available. If not, trade down twice and get two extra high picks

With a proven 30 year record of poor salary cap management, making free agent signings of very good players unrealistic, this team needs serious impact players who may not be available in the first round if we win more games.

Imagine this team without Turpin and our "uber" ( super in German) place kicker Aubrey. They have covered up the lack of offensive firepower. Look at the points scored this year of NFL teams. The Boys are near the bottom. This team needs offensive firepower more than anything else. Terrence Williams and Michael Gallop produced more early as 3rd round picks than any receivers on this team other then Lamb than. Tolbert is a decent 4th or 5th receiver. He cannot carry the team or make big plays.

It’s not good.

We are so locked into mediocrity it’s not funny.

We went from getting bigtime impact guys and now it’s looking like a guard or linebacker haha

Maybe we can get in the Jeanty range.

Would I love having Jeanty on this roster, absolutely, but IMHO I would rather see this team just keep winning as many games as possible at this point considering we just coming off wins vs Wahington and NY, doesn't matter about draft position anymore, I'm just all in on concerning teams on Sunday that the lowly Dallas Cowboys could really interrupt a contending teams post season slotting... lol
A fan just has to be creative in how they want to fan these days... :p
Go Boys

Don't waste your time bro. Too many posters stuck on ignorance. They just want to see some kind of wins......at all costs.......as long as their achey-breaky hearts are mended and healed for a week or two. They can't see the forest for the trees.

notice how many of the jethro minions have crawled out of their holes lately?

They can do what they want in the draft by making a few trades.
And what if they lost the last 2 games, and more games the way some want. Say have a top 5 or a top 10 pick.

What do you expect them to do with it. They will not draft a QB. What, a top OL, LB, DT? I am sure what player or position they draft.
Fans on here will complain. That is the only guarantee. And could be rightfully so. As every fan will have their favorite player to draft, or differing opinions on position.

they are not going to draft a qb nor an rb and are not getting Hunter, so 11th, 7th, whatever it isnt that big a deal
actually it is a big deal because if we had a top ten pick we could trade down for more picks in the second and third rd at least
This team needs at least six new quality starters and we know Big and LIttle Enos will do nothing in FA

If a top 10 pick and a trade down. This place would explode. If they use that top 10 pick on a player, this place would still explode, as the same fans would say... trade down.

This is such flawed logic. What will they do with the pick? Lol

A higher pick is better than a lower pick. Regardless of anything else.

If I draft in the top 10, I could do more damage to help this team instead of drafting late in the teens or twenties of each round. It's not hard to understand that. This team this year is going no where. It needs to fill many holes through the draft (where Jerry has already given away our early 4th and 6th round picks). This team needs to position itself to draft inside the top 10 of each round in order to trade down once or twice in order to pick up much needed extra picks. If anyone can not understand that, well, they clearly don't have this team's best interest in mind.

ignorance? relax. if people want to enjoy football (as intended) that's not ignorance, it's pride and investment. also jeanty is not the answer or the best usage of resources even if he is a phenom. seems like your insults might apply better in your direction.

and if people want to point out the flaws and problems just sit there and take it
By the way I agree on Jeanty. he is the top back this year no doubt but there are plenty in this draft that could make a real difference in our running game

It is ignorance. I just explained how so in the comment before yours.

Did you people advocating for a RB not see what Dowdle did on Thursday? He was finally given a proper number of carries and he did well… over 100 yards rushing. This is what happens when he is utilizing properly. So please stop complaining that we have no such RB. Instead you should be complaining that Dowdle hasn’t been used right until the Thanksgiving game.

Which is exactly why it isnt a very big deal IMO. This team does need probably 6 or more new starters for 2024, and you wont be finding them all in the draft no matter how much you trade down. This team really needs to focus on 2026 already.

I don’t know WTH to think. I don’t like rooting to lose, but I also know that rock bottom is necessary for any type of possible change at the top, which is absolutely necessary if they are ever going to be able to not be soft enough to get to the next level.

It’s an odd situation to be in but that’s what we have with current ownership. They think they are better than they are, same as they do with certain players.

Folks are upset that Dallas is winning and won't be able to draft a RB top five? Many would be upset if Dallas were to draft a RB top 5.

Granted I admit Dowdle has been a pleasant surprise this year, but the issue you have with Dowdle is the Cowboys per reports didn't want to spend more than $4m in free agency last year for a RB. What makes us believe they have any actual interest in paying a 27 year old Dowdle? I would have to believe that he has likely positioned himself to be in the Rhamdonre Stevenson/Joe Mixon/Chuba Hubbard range of $8-9M at least. Maybe the Cowboys end up retaining some of these guys this year, but I remain skeptical they'll pay him after a successful year of playing a guy most thought of as a depth/practice squad type.

They have had that ability for the past 29 seasons but rarely if ever do anything with it.

I'm not upset because I realize it wouldn't matter if Dallas had the top 10 picks all to themselves. I remember who is running the draft and gets the final say. In my opinion all winning the past 2 games has done is propelled Jerry back into his dream world of relevancy and has potentially convinced him that MM needs a stay of execution.
