Jerry still has no interest in tanking

Jerry Jones will always be consistent in his mentality. He thinks he assembles winning, championship contending teams every year. In his mind, coaching, players and staff fail to contend for the Super Bowl, or even go over .500 in a given season.

He is not the problem. Everyone else is. He probably thinks everyone else is just one more, good Jones locker room talk away from being legendary.

It's too late to tank.

The opportunity to get a difference making draft pick is gone

The opportunity to make the playoffs or accomplish anything of meaning never existed.

So now....we'll just exist, play games that mean nothing, and repeat for 4 or 5 seasons.

Yet Jerry did say at one point he would have fired himself.
This org is a complete dumpster fire.

Really? Difference making draft picks exist all over the board. Some are even UDFAs.

When Jerry got the news this week that he won another “Forbes Championship” he probably feels like he’s “winning” in a way none of us care about.

I honestly think he thinks that $10 billion valuation makes him a great GM instead of a great salesman/businessman. Another reason why having the owner also be the GM is a fundamental flaw that cannot be overcome. JJ conflates money with on field results.

I couldn't care any less about how much money this team is worth. Lombardis are the coin of the realm if you care about championships.

OMG people, what did you expect him to say

Yeah but the idiot made the decision of being an all-knowing qualified professional football authority on March 29, 1994. He put himself on the clock for achieving ultimate success AND he claimed it with Jimmy Johnson's team two years later.

The championship win validated his nonsense. So, the lackluster, 'reasonable' GM tenure following Super Bowl XXX should have been enough to end his reign of stupidity based upon his initial decision to start it.

Nope. A divisional playoff loss, two wild card loses, a .500 season and three sub-.500 seasons could not get himself canned. So, giving him a seven-year grace period, AFTER his ludicrous divorce from Johnson, ended up being worthless. And 2003-to-present has only compounded his idiocy on an annual basis.

"GM for life."

what did you expect him to say?
Answer: Two things immediately come to mind.
  1. "No comment."
  2. Nothing at all
Jerry Jones is Jerry Jones. He will forever be criticized for his lifelong inability of not flapping his gums.

I get the sentiments and I agree with what you’re saying. However, I don’t think there’s much difference between picking 5 to 10 here. We can still draft Jeanty. we obviously aren’t drafting one of the quarterbacks, or never really had a chance at Travis Hunter. Picis four through 10 seem to be about the same level and there are not many blue chip prospects in this draft.
