Cowboys to shut down DeMarcus Lawrence for rest of 2024 season

A 2nd rounder that actually was worth the proverbial "squeeze". Good run Tank.

Doubt he's back. If he still wants to play, as he stated previously, best of luck to him. Ride it until the wheels fall off.

Wonder if Quinn will want him in Washington next year. I mean, they have a former first-round pick cast off by Oakland and Armstrong as their ends. Even an aging Lawrence may be an upgrade.

Frankly, I can't see us keeping him because we drafted Kneeland in the second round to go with Parsons. We need other ends, but we do get Williams back and it wouldn't surprise me if we re-sign Lawson for cheap.

Jerry trying to figure out how to make him the highest paid defensive player of all time for media buzz so he can then top that by making Parsons the highest paid defensive player right after that for even more media buzz.

best de run defender we've had since too tall.
hope he finishes a cowboy.

Leader of men?? Outta here with that Hot Boyz punk. Tired Tank only did "little things" after he got paid. Good riddance.
Huh?

DeMarcus had a good season after signing his 3-year extension in 2022. And he had a pro-bowl level season last year with a PFF grade over 91.

The hot Boyz schtick seemed goofy to me, but he's been a very solid player and person for Dallas.

Based off his energy on the sidelines during the "Sounds from the Sidelines" videos...he is more invested in the game than pretty much everyone on the team, even at his age.

From a very casual eye, he seems to still be very hungry.

Does his job on the field, and a good(the Cowboys best?) cheerleader on the sidelines. Hasnt gotten into disciplinary issues that I recall.

What is with the negativity?

I've talked bad about him at times but overall I respect his game and approach. Minus the tired comment. Like @FanofJerry said, he atleast tried to bring energy and leadership unlike other "stars" on the team.

I agree with you, he's been a good Cowboy. I think it was that contract that he got that attracts the most negative responses or feelings about him. That and the fact that he doesn't rack up a lot SACKS, which is the only real counting stat for his position.
For some reason once a guy gets a big payday, some fans turn on them. Not sure why. We the fans don't have to pay the salary- Jerry does, so what do I care- LOL.

I always suspected this was Martin and Law’s last year. I hope not I’d hope they get to ride off without injuries but I think this is it. Which is a shame because Jerry and ci. Used this as a throwaway year.
They didn’t use it as a throwaway year, they were forced into their position by injuries.

No even before the injuries they went into this season with two rookie offensive linemen with one at left tackle, no running game thanks to them completely ignoring it, didn’t upgrade the receiving group, can’t stop the run, coaches all on one year deals….this was a throwaway year whether they knew it or not. This is not how you build a winning team and when you do that you are conceding the year. They don’t get the injury excuse because they mishandled the team before then. The minute they waited to sign Lamb and Dak right before the season started the season was over.
