I agree with you, he's been a good Cowboy. I think it was that contract that he got that attracts the most negative responses or feelings about him. That and the fact that he doesn't rack up a lot SACKS, which is the only real counting stat for his position.
For some reason once a guy gets a big payday, some fans turn on them. Not sure why. We the fans don't have to pay the salary- Jerry does, so what do I care- LOL.
Yeah I hate that. I wish salaries weren’t dislosed to fans. It’s like Netflix streaming numbers lol….they don’t get disclosed and thankfully so. A guys talent should be determined based on his actual tape not what Jerry decided to pay him.

Based off his energy on the sidelines during the "Sounds from the Sidelines" videos...he is more invested in the game than pretty much everyone on the team, even at his age.

From a very casual eye, he seems to still be very hungry.

Does his job on the field, and a good(the Cowboys best?) cheerleader on the sidelines. Hasnt gotten into disciplinary issues that I recall.

What is with the negativity?
Yeah Law is a Cowboy legend. He deserves more respect then being called a punk.

Another overpaid and overrated injury-prone JAG of ours.
Please D-Law don't let the door hit you in the...................

Never understood the DLaw hate around here. He was a damn solid player for Dallas. Will hate to see him go play for another team, but wish him luck on his next endeavor.
I think it had more to do with him being overpaid. Solid against the run for sure but paid to be more of a pass rusher as well which most of his years was average except a couple of seasons.

Would love to see him back, but with his injury history and age, it would have to be a decent deal.

Like his game a lot...edge player that played the run. Stuck his foot in his mouth with the, we were tired stuff against GB....aside that, he was a player.
I would gladly stand up next to this football player and throw all prejudiced age labels the hell away,,,right now.

I never understood it either. He was under appreciated because he was judged by his sack numbers.
I get it perfectly. As soon as a player gets paid, fans inexplicably turn against them, right or wrong, good or bad. Especially if that player talks out loud or has a personality of any variety beyond vanilla.

A 2nd rounder that actually was worth the proverbial "squeeze". Good run Tank.

Doubt he's back. If he still wants to play, as he stated previously, best of luck to him. Ride it until the wheels fall off.
He’s gone.

contract voids after the season. UFA

still has 7M dead Cap?

odd contract that he was given.

Here's why now convince us all he is worth the cap Dollars we paid him.
P.S. When he wasn't injured that is?

I guess people just have a different definition of "leader of men" than I do. The only leading he did was lead us into the worst stretch of defense in the history of the Cowboys. Everything he taught in the locker room was a lesson in selfishness. How to put yourself ahead of the team. How to promote your own brand. How to undermine the coaching staff. How to undermine players committed to winning. How to devalue the playoffs. How to maximize income while minimizing output.

D Flaw is very much similar to many players we have had over the years. Quality player, horrible leader. Put him on a team with solid leadership that backs up the coaches, is committed to preparation and is committed to winning playoff games and he could be fantastic. Put him in charge of leading the team and you get J Smooth and Sam Williams and Randy Gregory.

A legend of what, tired, silly names, underproducing in big games, a good player yes but so far from a legend it’s ludicrous to even think that
He’s a Cowboy legend for his era. Not the 90s he can’t compare to those guys but for the 2010’s and beyond he was a good player for us. Personal bias’s aside. The worst thing you guys can say about him is creating a Hot Boyz nickname.

This is just another great example of what this franchise has become. In the early 90s Irvin would make a list of players for Jimmy that needed to go in order to win it all. Nothing short of 100% would do. D Flaw would have been making a grocery list. The season never could end fast enough for that guy.
