But who knows. Maybe when Kellen came in for the interview he was told about Witten and he refused. That could have happened. He's a young coach looking to build a career. He's not looking to be a bridge to some high school coach.

So if this is what happened that means Schottenheimer will be the Head Coach specifically to fit the timeline for Jason Witten.

I'm not suggesting it's true but it is very plausible.

The only reason I don't buy the Witten narrative is that Jerry will likely be dead by the time that manifests, and he seems like he'd be the primary one who wants Witten as HC. Jerry probably actually is arrogant and delusional to think he can cheat death well into his 90's, but I'm honestly shocked that he doesn't feel at least some urgency to win now and would make a coaching hire only to have another HC in waiting in 5 years.

When Jerry said that coaches need to work under contracts with incentives, make no mistake, coaches (real coaches) all over the country heard that and blocked his phone number.

It's not enough you want them to work with a character like you, you want them to *** stipulations...

No one knows how Jerry has left. He could live to be 110 for all anyone knows. I've seen life long chain smokers live into their mid 90's

I still say Schottenheimer's being used to make Kellen Moore more acceptable to the fan base.

Not that I think they aren't dumb enough to hire Schottenheimer but why choose him over Moore? He's their wiz kid. The guy they were personally grooming. Schottenheimer is McCarthy's flunky that he was giving a break to as a tribute to his father who gave the same break to McCarthy years ago.

I won't believe it until it is official.

If Moore is as smart as everyone thinks then he has already turned the job down.

Jerry isn't looking for innovation, thinking out of the box, or a revolutionary new strategies.

Jerry is looking for compliance, obedience, and willingness to follow his directions no matter the absurdity.

I thought all along that Moore would not come here. He will have other options either this year or next, or the one after.

Why would there be all this Schottenheimer talk if things went well with Moore?

Jerry’s nuts, and when he wants things like incentive based pay, full control which he does nothing with to improve the team, and constantly undermine the coaches, it’s not an easy sell….even for him.

All of that, plus Stephens “we haven’t thought about it,” is the reason things are reduced to what they are….a full mess.
