New Coaching Staff

Obviously with the Jones at the top of pile it could never be as good as we all would like however... What are your thoughts on this new regime? At least it a younger staff and no retreads.
I would rather give No-Schott a shot than retread failed head coaches. If they failed elsewhere, I don't think they could win here with the way the Joneses run the team. I like the staff that is being assembled overall. I don't like the special teams coordinator selection as it seems like this is more a friend of No-Schott hiring than one that was done based on accomplishments. Eberflus makes sense because of his connections to the team and his success as a DC in Indy. Adams makes sense if we want to run the ball because he's an up-and-coming coach who shows some acumen in that area. Sorenson is a headscratcher.

Now, were there better first-time head coaches to choose from than No-Schott? Certainly, there were other coordinators who had better success than him recently and actually called plays for their teams.

I think they have done a good job on getting a staff that can work. They seem to have a good plan on running the football. Now we will need to see it take shape on the field.

So many fans whined and complained about Schottenheimer being named coach. Heck I was not even sure how I felt.
Rather it was him or lack of the effort the front office put into it. Which is the same IMO as to not liking the hire.

However, these same many fans, seem to like the new staff as it is coming together.

So are you giving these hired coaches as credit to Brian, or to Jerry?
Can it be they are working together on it, so the fan myth proves, Jerry is not so controllimg after all?

Who you giving credit to. As to it looks better than many thought.
Yes Jerry needs to provide players now, and we need to see it on the field. However, that is not the point.

Who”s idea are all these coaches many seem to like.

I agree, for as poor as the hc process was I'm feeling optimistic about whwre they are overall now

I think most had an issue with the process or lack there of vs the guy, shotty is a ceo type coach and is going to have more accountability than MM...most would have rather had another coach but I think the majority of us will give him a chance but are still irritated at how terrible the hiring process was

My view of the new coaches is pretty positive.

They all come to the Cowboys with one thing in mind:

So far so good. Interested in who will be OL coach. Choice looks to be a good choice for RBs

Outside the process of hiring our head coach, I am pretty satisfied.

If the Cowboys are truly destined to find success in 2025, Stephen will be required to keep his word about changing his ways in vet FA. He has yet to prove that claim, although, this is a new year and the opportunity to keep his word will be required for chances for this year's version of the Cowboys to have any decent chances of success.

The old ways of relying upon 3rd-tier veteran free agents must end. Let's hope it does. A new staff can only do so much if Stephen doesn't improve his veteran free agent ways and acquire better talent in 2025.
Let's put it this way -- it's definitely high time for veteran FA changes to occur. Will SJ keep his word? Let's hope so . . . we'll see.

It's hard to say. Most staffs seem to be a combination of what the GM wants and what the coaches want. For example, with this one No-Schott has no ties to Eberflus, but the Joneses do. However, the Joneses have no ties to Sorenson, but No-Schott does. Same goes for McCarthy. At first, he brought in Nolan as his defensive coordinator based on his past relationship with the coach. The Joneses had no relationship with Nolan. However, it would be hard to say that McCarthy wanted Moore when he came aboard. He may have actually wanted to install his offense immediately, but the Joneses "talked him into" keeping Moore because the offense had been successful

Look at his words. He did not promise to change his ways in vet FA. He promised to look at how they are doing it. That could mean they talk about it and decide they have been doing what they believe is in the best interest of the team.

If it's his decision to stay as is, the team will continue to do what they've done with veteran free agency. That's anything but encouraging. SJ would be well advised to upgrade his policy of welcoming 3rd-tier veteran free agents and instead, adopt a more effective vet free agency hiring agenda.

Being ingenuous about his actual intentions might only lead to the fans' displeasure with him. Fostering false hope is not the answer, if that's his intention. If he refuses to admit to the failures of the past, it will only lead to a further downturn of this team's future.

It feels like they are trying to bring in the right coaches to resurrect the run game. Now do they have the right players, remains to be seen. These coaches won't matter if they fail to bring in some talent.
