I have played the position, the length and his ability to correct for throws that are inaccurate is why they traded for him.

Dak throws alot of inaccurate balls and since we are stuck with him, we needed a guy who can go get them.

Exactly. He's been tasked playing with the equivalent of highschool QBs his entire time in the NFL. Which hard to believe it's only 3 years. Seems like he's been in the league 5 years lol. KC team didn't score once over 30 points this past season and they were 15-2. their defense led the way. detroit and their high scoring offense got destroyed in the playoffs. see the difference?

Not really. They could use the franchise tag on him over the next couple of years. It would actually be smarter than a long-term deal. The tag for WR in 2025 is $21M, but he's playing this season, the final year of his rookie deal, for about $4M. So if we tag after this season and again 2027 ....

2026 franchise tag estimate $22.5M
2027 franchise tag estimate $23.3M

Total over 3 years $49.8M = an average of approx $16-17M per season

That would work. That gives us two years with him and a comp pick when he leaves.

Well a few things.

I never said we were a championship team.
I don’t need Jerry to feed me hopium.

My opinion of this team is based on my on knowledge of the game. I believe they had a good offseason. I like the moves they’ve made.

You want to protect yourself. I get it. You don’t want to be disappointed again so you would rather be pessimistic. I don’t blame you.

This team can no longer disappoint me. I’m here to comment on the moves they have made and if any the team made it I would give them their due.

This same place thought trading s 3rd and 5th for Dotson was a great move. Now people are afraid of losing a 3rd.

Cowboys had a good offseason. They made a few position groups go from a weakness to a strength.

I'm not worried about this move than most. I'm more worried about Dak.

I think Dak on the field will be fine. His body holding up might be a concern. Though I think he typically is healthy after missing a season.

Huh? I know exactly what happened last year. You're not trading the draft capital it would take to go from 12-4 for a DT that not everyone was sold on. FYI, I'm no fan of Jerry and his idiot son, but I can also recognize the cost of this trade(low risk) and that it represented good value(unlike your trade wish) You're also discounting the benefit of having GP on the team this year. You get basically a free look and you can choose to resign him or let him walk and possibility get the pick back(3rd round) in return. A contract with AV of 20M+ gets you that 3rd. Cee Dee makes 30M+.
