I would have liked to see him extended. I'm sure I'm not alone. But lets keep in mind that nobody did anything bad to Parsons. A tag would suck, but that's not the case yet. Byron Jones played through his 5th year option, and we didn't see him whining. No one is entitled to an extension.

Byron Jones only had one year of production at corner cause he put at safety to start his career. It made sense for him to play on his fifth year option to show he could continue playing at a high level.

See, that's where we differ. I honestly don't care. Don't care if they pay him what he wants. Don't care if they trade him.

I don't even care if he sits all season other than I won't enjoy hearing both sides whine (and yes, it's both sides) about it all off-season.

The truth is we have no idea what the hold-up is. The per-year money may be the one thing they agree on. Cowboys probably want 5 years for cap purposes and Micah probably wants 4 years because the cap will likely inrease dramatically and every year he signs for will ultimatley cost him money.

I don't blame the Cowboys nor do I blame Micah and his agent.

If he sits out, Micah will more than make up the money he loses this year with next year's contract with the Cowboys or another team because the salary cap has been increasing a lot in recent years.

Right now, $14 million is an extra $3.5 million per year over 4 years or $2.8 million over 5 years.

The salary cap increased by $24 million from 2024 to 2025, so that will will be easily covered by a new 4/5 year contract that starts in 2026.

I think Jerry's ego took a hit with the publicly perception he lost negotations with Prescott and Lamb and now he's trying to make up for it by trying to "win" against Micah.

The bottom line is if you think there is a "good" side in this negotation, you are simply projecting your own biases.

There are no "good" sides in the NFL .. the owners and players always fight for every dollar they can get.

I don't care either. I just understand that Jerry is holding all the cards. So Jerry is going to do what Jerry is going to do, and there is nothing Micah or his Agent can do about it.

That's why I scratch my head, living on the east coast and seeing this no name Darius Cooper play for the birds, and honestly he impressed me, so looking him up after I came across him.

The guy (Cooper) went un drafted in college, but he played college ball not to far away from Dallas yet the birds signed him.

I get the fact that Dallas acquired Pickens and may not need a receiver, but the receivers on the birds seem to be good themselves and I would have never have thought they would acquire yet another receiver and in the cowboys backyard.

Perhaps it's just me, but it seems the birds try to ensure that they are at least 2 deep in one position that they feel comfortable with. T

That said, not certain what they (birds) would do if Barkley went down, but they at least have a running game their opponent has to respect...

Why would we make a trade to the Packers, without even announcing to the other 30 teams that Micah is on the trade block?

All 32 teams had multiple chances to draft Cooper. Can’t blame the Cowboys just because they’re nearby. I saw him on replays of preseason games. The guy seems to love to play football. The Eagles, I’m sure, are as surprised as anyone about him.

My only point is sometimes you need to find a diamond in the rough and polish it.

Seems the birds find a lot of diamonds in the rough lately or perhaps it's just me.

Reality is you can only be so lucky in the draft IMO.

Pretty sure this is exactly what Jalen Ramsey did at Jacksonville, right down to the same "back injury." He faked a back injury for several weeks until they finally traded him to LA... Where the back suddenly cured itself and he started playing.

And guess who his agent was for that entire show? Yep, David Mulugheta.
