If they trade him to the Packers of all teams that may be my 13th reason lol

Or Jerry has been holding it intentionally to be able to tag Micah next season???

Jerry has all of his ducks lined up for this negotiation, unlike Dak and CD.
Jerry also has to figure out Tyler Smith, George Pickens, and DaRon Bland.

Is now a bad time to mention Smith and Pickens have the same agent as Micah?.............................

With a legitimate pass rusher opposite of Micah, he can be even better.
No matter which one is double teamed, the other can wreak havoc.
We have not had this for a very long time. DLaw was not the guy, though they insisted he was.

Kind of like who do you double cover, if either, Lamb or Pickens. One will be open, and if not, someone else will be.
Tank was just an average player that we overpaid. Ware was legit.

Carter was way below average. Don't fall for the playoff appearance w/ his 17/22 TD/INT ratio, that was the #1 D in the NFL. Carter was terrible.
In 2003, Carter received the 2nd most votes for Comeback Player of the Year. I could name you 16 starters that were worse and if I can do that, wouldn't it make him average?

He was certainly an upgrade over guys like Chad Hutchinson and Drew Hensen.

He wasn't anything special of course, but he wasn't terrible. We've seen what bad quarterbacks do enough times.

.... I know they are many, but which one for you still stands out?

Mine: Dallas Vs Nola 2019

Saints RB Kamara takes hand off, to outside. Jaylon Smith comes down like freight train, whacks him on side of helmet.
Kamara staggers getting up, walking dizzy, side to side. I thought, oh man, that's gotta be flag. Nothing, ref working on Cola Slurpee.
Not sure which one, but I will just say Roy Williams.

Unlike all the players from his draft class that were paid early except for Chase, Parsons is looking to be the highest paid player in the league that is not a quarterback. Parsons has the most powerful agent in the league going against the most powerful owner in the league. This is bigger than a player holding out for more money. It’s about players salaries and keeping costs under control. Parsons appears to be willing to sacrifice a prime season. He will not play a down for the Cowboys until he gets that extension.
That’s very easy to say. Will see if it holds true if the Cowboys don’t pay him.

Seeing Emmitt Smith references here but there was one slight difference.

Emmitt was a restricted free agent during his 1993 holdout. If Emmitt wanted to, he could have entertained offers from other teams. But his hands were tied because every other team just assumed Jerry would match the offer anyway; so they didn't bother. So it was basically a Smith-Jones stare down where no other team would get involved.

Now it seems other teams do want to at least throw some bait at the Cowboys for Micah.
He was also the leading rusher in the NFL the previous two seasons....literally the best at his position, making 500k.

Mecah is making top 5 money already this season.

The "reported" trade package Green Bay would send Dallas is two 1st round picks, a 2nd round pick, and a 5th round pick.

I am assuming that's a 1st and 2nd in 2026 and a 1st and 5th in 2027. Considering the Packers would probably be in the latter part of the round, I am not convinced that's good enough compensation. But still worth discussing as a hypothetical.
You don't make your best offer right off the bat.

Parsons is obviously the best defender on the Cowboys and makes a case for being the best defender in the NFL.

On the other hand there are many superior level defenders in the NFL. How many NFL defensive players would you consider to be in the same tier level as Parsons. It is not limited to Parsons’ position. The other players can play any position as long as it’s on defense.

Now think about this: Is Parsons likely to perform better than a majority of that group over the next 5 years and how many new players will arrive that will escalate to Parsons’ tier and how many of those player will Parsons likely out perform?

When you look at this situation though this lens from my point of view the probability that paying Parsons to be the top defender in the league doesn’t look like a winning cap strategy.
Over those 5 years, he won't end up being the top paid defensive player in the league.

Parsons is a guy you sign. Well, should have signed. At this point, given Jerry screwing this 100 ways from Sunday, it might be better to just trade him.

Diggs himself says he has no limitations. He's physically cleared.

The only concern is ramping up into football shape. There's not a lot of practices between now and next Wednesday (when they have to get on a plane) for Diggs to get into rhythm.

I'm ready to roll the dice on the trade.

With him we won't be great, just a "solid" middling team.

Without him and 2 1sts at least (maybe a 2nd or 3rd) PLUS 40+ million in cap space so 2 good FA starters, who knows.

He will be better than anyone we bring in, I get that but the 4 or 5 players we get in return may make us a much better team overall.

Stuff it, I like to gamble so roll the dice and let's see.
That's the thing. This team isn't going to really be very good even with him over the next 3-4 seasons, so trading him now, taking the picks and loading up for next year and the future makes all of the sense in the world at this point.

Jerry will probably just keep this nonsense rolling though.

Jerry also has to figure out Tyler Smith, George Pickens, and DaRon Bland.

Well that is most likely why the pie reference is being used. Jerry is speaking directly to his Agent.
