Derek Brown and a 1st. Brown is an elite DT. That Panthers first could be high.

However I will say the 2027 class could he historic. So that pick might be the most valuable thing we got.

That is what I am hearing so next year draft depending on how the players fall, I would trade one those firsts for another one in the 2027 draft. 3 first rounders in the 2027 draft would be sweet.

Brown is a good, young player, but he the point is mute as Carolina didn't want to trade him. Taking Brown and just a 1st rd pick isn't enough, I do think the Cowboys getting the 2 1st rd picks and Clark was good compensation. 1st rd picks are gold and they could potentially become even more valuable in trade backs or even if the Packers struggle in either year.

this is a point I think a lot of fans overlook. when you trade away a pick for later year return, you get more in return.

Brown and a likely high first would probably be fair. The Panthers would be trading a major building block (one of only 3 or 4 that they have), and a big building block next year, and $25M in net cap space, to get an All-Pro pass rusher.

Two first rounders, plus Brown, plus $25M loss of cap space is too much. That's like 4 building blocks gone in exchange for Micah.

The Packers, OTOH, have basically built a core, and Parsons is the kind of piece that could get them over the top for a Super Bowl now. Their window is open, their draft picks are late, and rookies mean less to them anyway than they do to a Panthers franchise building for the future.

I think Brown is a better asset than Clark and a Carolina 1st is likely worth more than two Packer 1s. It seems like that was never on the table though.

Just heard Fowler on 1053 the fan say they talked to the Panthers about a Micah trade but they didn’t want to part with Derrick Brown…..they aimed high but teams weren’t budging because they didn’t want to spend 47 million and trade compensation….


But hypothetically….do you feel better about a 1st rounder and Derrick Brown fit Micah? Or 2 1sts and Kenny Clark?

2 firsts is probably the equilivent of 1 top 5 pick from the Panthers. Though Brown is a few years younger, he's coming off a knee injury and also carries higher cap numbers. I rather have Clark over Brown, then it just becomes a question on what else you get from the Panthers. If it was 2 1sts and Brown it's a no brainer taking the Panthers deal. If it was a 1, 2nd, and Brown I probably would lean Panthers.

Just hoping the Packers draft picks somehow wind up in the teens which would make me feel a lot better about the trade.

As soon as I heard micah got traded, and before the compensation was announced, I KNEW that a player HAD to be included. Contrary to what some fans are saying, I was sure that Jerry would want a player in order to compete this year. I think this is confirmed by the report.

So as much as a third instead of a player would even out the value, I don't think there is any way Jerry would have taken such a deal.

Cowboy's FO think they can compete for a SB every year, enter Kenny Clark. They think Dak can take us there, so would not surprise me if they dish a second and a 5th for a player before the trade deadline.

Heck! Maybe even one of those 1sts, depending on who is out there, hopefully not.

It’s tough to say. There’s a weird mix of vets and young players….they got older with Clark so that seems to insinuate win now.

Isn't the short window been here since last years? I mean this is quarterback driven league and when you over pay A quarterback like they did to keep your veteran here, it does what it keeps your short window open, they gave him his receivers, hopefully they at least somewhat fix the offensive line issues ,we'll see about the tackles, but getting a little older on defense doesn't matter,

we still have a small window regardless of how you see it as far as the trade goes and what not.

This is a win now, it's two years right ,a 2 year window that's Prescott this year and next year before he's technically worth eating some of that dead cap money... I mean we have diggs who might be the next one up for a trade but at least we have him this year...

So, while in some spots we got younger along the offensive line we have a couple young running backs we don't know how they're going to workout to go along with the veterans who probably are here for one year only but on the defensive side we needed a nose tackle and doesn't matter if it's just for two years....

I mean I've always saw this as a two-year window regardless of if Parsons was here or not so getting a little older at nose tackle it's not a big deal...

Now Jerry never sees it that way as a rebuild but maybe he will stash those first rounders by trading them away for a future 1st rounder and if we get to the end of 2027 with extra first round picks and Or other picks throughout the draft to utilize to move up and get a future quarterback, maybe that is his plan...

When Prescott's gone, he may be in rebuild mode... By that time a lot of contracts even if you look at Bland's new contract it seems like in two years if they wanted to make a decision they can trade and or cut a lot of players that are making the most money and for a soft rebuild they could do it and keep the cost down until they find their next quarterback...

Derek Browm is ok but man the Carolina Panthers seem to always pick in the top 10. Maybe ask them for two firsts, and Chubba Hubbard.

Parsons and Brown on the same defense would help Carolina do a quick 180 in what seems to be a pretty weak division year after year.

That said I'd probably take a 1st rounder and Brown if Carolina would have done that. Brown is just too good a player to pass up and you likely get a higher 1st rounder for 2026.

I would've done that too, probably. Maybe with an extra pick, like a future third rounder.

But getting then Panthers (inevitably high) 1st rounder plus Brown would've been excellent.
