I'll say it. If Philly was offering more and Jerry turned it down or Jerry didn't go back to Philly after GB made their offer............... he was stupid.

He was not stupid. He is stupid and continues his long legacy of being an amateur General Manager. For a guy who touts himself as a great negotiator, the Parsons give-away is the glaring example of his impatience and ineptitude. He could have conducted a proper auction and received far more than what will be high 2nd round picks because GB is a playoff contender and a serious one at that. Many have predicted GB in the SB. Why not trade him to New England who was a serious suitor and out of the NFC? Just dumb.

He typically had no choice where he went I don't think the Packers choice by Dallas was their first choice it was their only choice to get maximum compensation it just happened to be to an old rival and well that sucks they were the only ones that would pay that much compensation and turn around and give money to a skill player at $47 million which is quarterback money because they feel like they're one player away...

There's not a big list for that I mean there may have been some soft offers but this by far is probably the best offer they could have gotten whether it was March or now I realize in March we could have used the draft picks immediately and helped our team this year and that's the only negative of not getting it done during the draft that's it in my opinion that would have been the only positive is we would have been able to use that extra 1st round pick to pick up say a running back or something or packaged him into the second round and got a running back but that's it I don't believe you could have got much more for him in March I know people keep saying that but prove it...

The facts still remain he's a very expensive player that wanted a brand new contract with lots of guarantees and it being short where he can come back to the table so a team would have to still be in a situation where they would take that risk..

I think the cowboys did well....

One of the insiders said that there wasn't that much interest as teams didn't know where to play him and questioned the fit for their team's. Usually when a team needs to hand out a big extension, the compensation isn't great. Getting 2 1st rd picks and a proven player is a good package.

But who cares? The goal in trading Parsons is to get the most that can help your franchise. Philly is already better than we are so what does adding Parsons do for that dynamic? Not much.

I mean GB is still in the conference so they could still be a problem in the regular season and in the postseason.

The only rational justification for not trading him to Philly would be the belief that they are going to be so good over the next 2-3 years that the picks they would give up would be near the bottom of every round. But if the rationale was he just didn't want to see him play for Philly because they are in the same division, that's the kind of stupid logic I expect from a guy who has led this franchise to one of the worst postseason runs in NFL history.

One once regular season then play off's the other two every season. You know this and it's not stupid.

Well we know Eagles only have one DT on the roster worth having….and he’s arguably the best DT in the game. So chances are it’s probably a Jordan Davis and 2 1sts type deal and that’s worse then what we got from GB.

Jalen Carter and a 1st is the only deal I’d listen to from them and he’s an untouchable. I wouldn’t even pick up Howie’s call.

If they offered Carter, Jerry would of traded him to the eagles.

Not defending Jerry by any stretch, but non contending teams have no need or reason to part with high draft capital for Parsons, who is more of a final piece for a legit contender.

Also, since he had to be talked into trading Parsons at all, I doubt he had much involvement in finding a suitor.

They needed a contender with cap space, willing to part with multiple first rounders, and was willing to sign Parsons to a record deal. Doubt there were more than a few suitors, if that.

Now, it should have never come to this. Jerry backed himself into a corner yet again because he isn’t any good at this and he thinks he is some sort of genius. THATS the problem. The return on Parsons was awful considering the circumstances.
