Prescott had a very shaky 4th QTR

This is just so ridiculous. It's unreal. So many conversations on this board are pointless, no one is changing anyone's mind about Dak. I think there are like 5 posters who look at his play objectively. Show me one, ONE QB who is paid big money who doesn't have several 3 and outs in a game? There were 7 minutes left, no rational fan who has even a modicum of football knowledge should think that Dak should have played that possession like it was to win the game. That is pure insanity and is nothing but frustration and hindsight looking for someone to blame. Dak is playing as good as you could ask a QB to play right now. We literally have the worst defense in the league in almost every metric and would be 4-2 at worst right now and tied for first in the division if they were just decent. The blame is solely at Eberflus' and Jerry's feet for this team having only 2 wins.
You must have become a fan this year. Dak’s been here 10+ years. He always crashes and burns when you need him most. I don’t care how good or bad the defense is. At the end of the day, you’ll always get the same results from Dak if your ultimate goal is making a playoff run to the SB. The defense is awful this year but what difference does it make if Dak’s under center.

Yeah no one seems willing to address the fact that unless the offense has a two score lead in the final minutes the defense aint holdin nothin. And since we could not get a two score lead (because the defense was allowing Carolina to run the ball at will, eat clock and score) our only hope was to have the ball last. We didn't.. so we lost.
As big a fan as I was, and as bad as most of his defenses (and oline for that matter) were....Romo messed up a few times too. He was no choker...but he messed up. Just facts.

But we shall NOT say the same about Dak. Ever.

Yes...ALL QB's have a bad stretch.

Why not Dak? We need to list EVERY OTHER QB first...before getting to Dak.

Right.

No they wouldn't they wouldn't even drafted them the fact that we've had two franchise quarterbacks and are not paying eight quarterbacks like the Browns not going through quarterback hell like the Steelers and other teams.

Don't give me that nonsense we literally got George Pickens to make this offense better they went and got Turpin Butler and Aubrey from the UFL they made the special teams and the offense great instead of saying thank you you just complained about the defense.... So go ahead keep it up be a hypocrite you can't say anything nice about Jerry only negatives anything that's good it's not him.. So Jerry's the only franchise that hired Matt Eberfluous because I'm pretty sure he worked under Mike Zimmer at one point he had his own team in Chicago he was with the Colts this isn't his first rodeo or his first hire and he's not the only team that would have done it because look around...

It's nice sitting here in hindsight and saying how bad a hire this is but he's been on other teams.. Mike Nolan was a Mike Mccarthy hire and Jerry fired him after one year you say that they he won't do it because of the money on the contract but he did it but you expecting him to fire matt right now? Show me a franchise that hired a brand new coaching staff and then midway through the season fired to DC versus just let them play it out and see how it works out and then make a move in the offseason with these draft picks you make the moves in the offseason...

I want to hear about the GM in the 30 years you know I've been around i'm 55 years old I know the story I know the history i've been a Cowboys fan since 1981 I've had a lot of heartbreak even watching the Cowboys in the 80s my man So don't give me this nonsense you know what you know what underperformed Tom Landry should have won five Super Bowls and he only won two You're gonna blame Jerry for that that's sad actually Literally went to how many championship games and didn't get to the Super Bowl Lost how many Super Bowls that's right disappointing you can claim he won plenty in the regular season of winning his coach in the regular season ever but how did that work out in the big moments because Jerry has 3 the landry teams have two.lmao

This is about perspective i'm not afraid of Jerryd I don't give a crap about Jerry But I what I can tell you is you can't skip the fact that he has put up a great offensive special teams this year because you won't admit it 0 anyone would have signed these players no no they wouldn't have even the Kansas City Chiefs got rid of Tyree Kill they didn't sign their CD lamb.

As a matter of fact the Kansas City Chiefs are constantly selling their good players they're getting rid of them... But now all teams do not do what Jerry did some of them let their players go we had to do it with Parsons this year now Jerry can never hear the end of it
Yes, he put together a great offense and special teams, and such a putrid defense that it completely negates the #1 offense in the league. That's literally how bad he is. One unit is so terrible that it can make the #1 offense irrelevant. Great job, Jerry! GM of the year! The Titans just fired their Head Coach 6 games in, and anyone with football knowledge can tell that at least half of the reason the defense is so bad is coaching, scheme, players not knowing where to line up, CBs and Safeties not communicating, etc. If this team was all around terrible then you let it play out, sure. But when you actually have a great offense and special teams, you do everything in your power to fix the defense now. Not waste another year. Especially when you have tons of cap room and picks to trade for days. Something has to change. Your take on Jerry is on par with your ability to write a coherent paragraph.

Dak almost never comes through for us in the clutch. These other QBs you mention having 3 and outs, but a lot of them have gotten it done in Dak's situation as Bryce Young did. Is Young more clutch than Dak? Apparently so, and he isn't paid 60 million to do it.

But you demoralized without even knowing it Cowboys fans are so used to this kind of QB failure that you make excuses for it. You defend it as if it's a personal insult to your family. You try to lay the blame elsewhere with whataboutism and refuse to admit the truth - Dak fails when you need him the most.

It's been going for 20 years straight with Romo and now Dak. Two QBs who way more often than not come up small on the most critical possession of the game.

History is full of guys who looked great until the moment of truth then failed because they got exposed for not being clutch. Romo and Dak are two examples.

As big a fan as I was, and as bad as most of his defenses (and oline for that matter) were....Romo messed up a few times too. He was no choker...but he messed up. Just facts.

Romo was a choker. If you look up choker in the dictionary it has Romo's picture with his quote about not winning a playoff game meaning he will have lived a great life.

I see what you are doing here. After 10 years...won't work bro. You'll have to try a different tactic.

But hey...wait a second...let's see yer stats then. Show everyone...now's your big chance! Don't mess it up.

I'm saying sometimes you don't have control of that i'm saying he has drafted lots of defensive players high in the draft over the last 10 years One of them was Parsons,

yes that fell apart but you can't really blame him for that but even with Parsons, this wasn't a great defense he's hired several defensive coordinators, Sometimes things don't work out on one side of the ball doesn't mean he's not trying.

I mean, I don't see how you can't see that I don't want to go over everybody that he's drafted but just because they haven't been hitting on them doesn't mean they're not trying...

Far too many the list I know they made mistakes but so do other teams yes Taco and Mazi were mistakes.. They have picked players like Parsons Sean Lee LVE Trayvon Diggs, Bland, Butler, at one point was a very good player injuries took their toll on a lot of those players I just named but they just drafted Rebel and yes you can blame him for picking a player that was dinged but other teams have done it as well they feel like he's a great player worth waiting on.. Get it we did it with Jaylon Smith and he didn't workout. but he also picked hill and it didn't workout...

I'm not going to go through all of them but a lot of it has been injuries on that side of the ball we've had the worst luck with draft picks but it doesn't mean he's not trying..

As a matter of fact, this was their draft board for their three top picks for first round TET, Nolen and Booker.. They were thinking about taking Walter Nolan maybe it's good they didn't 'cause, I think he's injured but their number one guy got taken so they went with the trenches and Booker who I probably think will play for 10 years here and he's going to play very well..

Yes, they make mistakes.. More recently they took two players in the 2nd and 3rd round and Revel at corner and Eazy E who by the way is playing better every week this defense does suck but it doesn't mean he's not trying...Kneeland? Before he was injured, he was playing pretty well,

I think they're in a bad defense but you act like he is not addressed defense and constantly they are picking defense in the first 3 rounds..

The guy named Will Mcclay and a very well paid scouting department that are telling Jerry to pick these players he doesn't do this on his own..

Some of these players will probably workout a couple of them aged out tank and Parsons are gone but they did a good job they drafted Armstrong and Gholston but they're not here anymore and Osa is a good player,

so tell me where he's not trying to make the defense better?

They made some mistakes with defensive coordinators and right now we're in the middle of it so we're in that moment where that's fresh on our memory and it's burned in but we're not talking about the fact that he's drafted a whole bunch of players he's brought some over in free agency and don't act like those don't work out either brian Huff was a complete and total and utter failure for the Eagle that $17 million a year they tried that but you know what it was their budget player at linebacker and safety that worked out better.

So yes, we're struggling to fix the defense but they are at least trying harder than you're making it out to be....

It must be easier for them to pick the offense don't ask me why but sometimes it's just accidental they stumbled upon some great players in the draft they worked out that bringing over George Pickens it worked out it doesn't mean it would have but it did they hit on a bunch of great offensive lineman and it worked out it's not their fault that the ones they picked on defense didn't work out it's just how things fall sometimes..

From the UFL because he is a cheap arse. If he was combing that with, being active in FA we would not be in this problem.

If he does not do everything several months late, we would have saved money on key contracts and have received better trade value for Parsons.

The guy takes forever to make a decision and avoids making them until the last moment. Does that sound a man with confidence?

He waits for people to call him, instead of knowing and going after what he wants and more importantly desperately needs.

He needs to hire a real GM, someone who is hungry and wants to make a mark in this league.

Jerry is already too comfortable with what he has already accomplished. Most likely has no more goals on his list and is just raking in money from his Cash Cow.

What this thread is seemingly pointing out is what we all know:
Dak plays well when it's easy, but when it's crunch time and the pressure is on, he draws back into his shell and doesn't make the difference that the Cowboys need him to make for them to be better.
When the pressure was on, and the game was on the line, Prescott was not the MVP his fans proclaim him to be.
Hence, he was Dak. He was the same Dak he has been since college, and the same Dak that kept the Cowboys from succeeding and achieving greatness.
Ya know, I haven't seen a single person who is paid to talk about football have anything close to this take on Dak this year. Even people like Cowherd and SAS who typically bash him in the media agree he's playing as good as you can play the position right now. I know you are one of those guys who posts stuff like this to the point of trolling, but you are completely alone in your opinion outside of the Dak trolls on this board, and no one who knows ball agrees with you. You're irrelevant. Dak has absolutely wet the bed before and has not elevated the team like he should getting paid $60m a year. This year, right now, he is playing the position very, very well, at an elite level. I am fan of the Dallas Cowboys, not a blind fan of one player. I love it when the QB of my favorite team plays at an elite level, and I will root for him to finally get over the hump because he continues to improve. It's just downright sad to the point of hilarity that you and the other trolls will blame him for one drive before you blame the defense who got a whopping one 3 and out and is ranked 32nd in every conceivable metric of defensive play in the league. If we had even a competent defense we are 4-2 or 5-1 right now.

You and your fellow trolls always like to throw out the "Dak fan over Cowboys fan" line, and that's just laughable when you are anti-Dak over Cowboys fan. I fully believe if you could push a button for Dak to win the Cowboys a Super Bowl and be the MVP you would have a serious decision on your hands because you hate him that much and would rather spend all your time bashing him and saying the same thing over and over and over in every thread of an internet forum.

Since when is the "game on the line" with over 8 minutes left? I have to categorically reject this premise because it's completely out of touch with reality. YOU didn't expect the Panthers to be able to bleed the last 6 and half minutes off the clock at that point. Neither did anyone else. Hell if not for Elam's PI and Eberflus's mystical 10 yard cushion on 4th and 4 defense the defense probably WOULD have gotten a stop. THAT's who buckled with the game on the line.. The offense got the ball with 8 minutes left probably thinking they had at least two more possessions. Because that's the way it plays out 99% of the time.

I do actually like you, so sorry for the paragraph comment, lol. But please use commas, they are your friend. The great GMs build championship rosters through and through. Look at what Howie has done in Philly. If a player gets hurt he is building depth. Constantly trading, constantly making the team better to the point of manipulating the cap. Yes, the bill comes due but the teams who have bult aggressively like the Eagles and Rams have multiple rings and SB appearances to show for it. Jerry has never put together a complete roster. The 2021-2023 seasons were as close as he's come but there have always been gaping holes like no run game or a decent to poor defense, etc. As many others have pointed out, he's more concerned with staying relevant than he is going all in and winning, because that would mean some down years with all the cap hits. Yes, he finally made a decent trade and got Pickens. But what else has he ever done in Free Agency, or in trades that worked? A freaking 4th for Lance? A 4th for Mingo? Overpays or completely screws up contracts so he can get the media discussing him until the final hour? Should have gotten way more for Micah from an AFC team who would have higher picks. Just bad. Yikes.

The funny thing is we absolutely lucked into Romo and Dak, those weren't some masterful GM evaluations or anything. Romo almost got cut multiple times and Dak only saw the field because both Romo and Kellen were hurt.

Those were not master GM evaluations. If they were how did we end up with Trance and Bazooka Joe?

If you give 100 monkeys a typewriter, one of them will spell a word.

You definition of "almost never" is different from mine. Dak has 24 game winning drives in his career and 17 4th quarter comebacks. He would have 2 more of each this year if the defense could be counted on to do their damn job.

His 24 game winning drives are 3 more than Jared Goff and one more than Mahomes and Allen. Granted Mahomes and Allen have one less year in the league but Dak has missed about 2 seasons worth of games sooo... Dak also has 17 4th quarter comebacks in his career. That's the same as Goff, 3 behind Mahomes and 3 more than Allen and Mayfield. So if Dak is not clutch.. what does it say about these guys with even less late game success than he has had? The only one with more late game success than Dak over the past 10 years has been Stafford who has an insane total of 30 game winning drives and 22 4th quarter comebacks on his ledger. But lest we forget.. you can only achieve 4th quarter comebacks if you stink bad enough for 3 quarters to be in that position in the first place. So we might be placing too much emphasis on that statistic to be honest. But if you want to hold it up as a standard.. then Dak stacks up favorably with anyone.

Look I don't care what these other teams have done, there's nothing we could do about that we are not fans of those teams, and those teams also make a lot of mistakes, You do realize that Jerry from 2021 to 2023 took the division twice from those Eagles we were the number one seed in 2023, unfortunately the players let Jerry down once again jerry didn't do that Parsons was on that team...

I don't want to hear about all this, it is what it is we are not in a situation to use a time machine.

It was not luck every team could say that then how is Tom Brady or Brock Purdy they were not evaluated to be the starters for those teams Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold, Geno Smith ,and now Daniel Jones, have all been passed around until now they're all of a sudden good quarterbacks lucky for those teams right. lmao How about the Bills, josh Allen was terrible in college he didn't even look good his first two years in the NFL they were all over them for that bad pick and you know what he developed I'd call that luck or is it just sometimes things work out that way?

Teams like the Steelers, Jets ,Browns and for years it was also Washington ,and New York both New York teams,

Lots of teams looking for quarterbacks that never can find them, and you're saying Jerry got lucky well why aren't they getting lucky, The Browns are paying for eight quarterbacks right now current and now long around the roster ,They've spent decades looking for a quarterback and can't find one they've done everything draft trades nothing's working but Jerry, Nope he lucked into it ,but these other teams have it right...

This has all been calculated right the Buccaneers getting Baker Mayfield and Brady?!!!!

they knew he was going to be an MVP, are you serious, can you please sit down and stop making stuff up to fit your narrative it is what it is Stay in a moment and realize you can't change any of that. Are you gonna add the coats to that mix too i'm trying to think of all these teams that can't get as lucky as dairy but you don't remember that lots of teams have stumbled into some of these quarterbacks when they shouldn't have..

One of them was also Kurt Warner tell me how he was under active but that was calculated now it took an injury for him to get in with the Rams So do we want to go over all the other teams because every time you do this that's what I'm gonna do they'll be long run on sentences without commas telling you that this is the reality of sports...

Lots of teams had bad drafts and like I said right now we're struggling on defense because we've just been unlucky in the draft and free agency and with injuries and it just happens to be on that side of the ball right now..

I mean the Browns are having the opposite problem but I sure would love to stay a Cowboys fan because the Browns haven't even won a division since 1989 and at least Jerry competes with Howie Roseman for the division I mean I know that's grasping at straws but we have not been the grounds people keep saying we're the Browns..

Right, now we're pretty much set up like the Cincinnati Bengals ,It's sad but it's also reality for other teams it sure is being heavy on 1 side or the other the Browns, have a great defense but a crap offense, it happens,

I don't see how you don't realize it is difficult to build a team that's strong on both sides of the ball ask the 85 Bears ask the Ravens twice How in the hell did the Jaguars and the Jets get the championship games with those offenses?

I don't think you want to do this with me, i'm not saying I like Jerry, I don't support Jerry,

I don't care who owns the team or who the GM is,

i'm telling you the reality of sports especially the NFL this is pretty normal I mean how long did it take the Bears to find Caleb Williams and is he it I don't know but how long has it been have they had a quarterback that never even reached 4000 yards like a century?

I wouldn't put it as luck you have good picks you have bad picks it just works out in your favor sometimes and it don't happens with all teams out there I mean I can just keep doing this There aren't many complete teams out there It is funny how the Rams throw away Jared Goff but he's doing well with the Lions does it make sense that the Lions got rid of Matthew Stafford and he goes and wins one with the Rams It's just luck it is all luck it's the timing of all of it can be deemed as luck

and I just say it just you get what you get..

So the UFL is another resource just like the draft I hate to break it to you but they're there for anyone to take challenge tell me you got lucky to do so no his scouting department did their job and they brought over some good players in technicality it's a farm league for the NFL even though nobody admits it....

Show us video to support your thesis that there was room for Dak to run through out of the pocket. Prove your statement. Then I will admit in front of everyone that you are right while I am wrong.

But if you fail to prove so, admit you are wrong and don't understand what you are watching.

Fair enough?
Dak does not consistently use his legs to move the chains. This is a major flaw in his game.

We needed Dak to make a play on the last 2 drives of the 4th quarter. Did he do it?

Do you disagree with these statements?

In all honesty we can bench race this till we're blue in the face but it's just another time where we as a whole franchise came up just a little short.

There are those with an agenda that just want to blame DAk because it's easy and he makes the most money.

There are those that want to blame the defense

The coaching staff and play calling.
I got to say it's just a soft franchise as a whole.
Nobody did their job today when it mattered.
Notice Jerry didn't want to talk after the game because he knows he hasn't done his job and acquired the talent necessary on defense to get the job done.
Soft Franchise!

On 3rd and a foot we pitch the ball wide and get stuffed for a 3-4 yard loss.

We have a big QB with a strong interior line. We should be able to Tush Push for 1 foot, but we don’t because that physical hard nosed play is not in our playbook!!!!!!
