Maxx Crosby or George Pickens?

Maxx Crosby in heartbeat. Not even a second thought. Here’s how I look at it. We have a 4000 yard passer, two 1000 yard WRs and a 1000 yard RB and we’re below.500. We probably wouldn’t get to 500 if we didn’t play 2 of the worst teams in the league to finish up the season. Point being, offense is not our problem. Defense is our problem. Give me Maxx, Clark, Q, Osa and Eze as our defensive line and I’ll take Lamb, Ferguson, Flo and anyone else we bring in on offense.

Now if Jerry was a man of his word. Big IF there, like massive big IF then he would get it done and keep GP and acquire Crosby. If Jerry was a man of his word then we wouldn’t have to choose between Maxx and GP.

I get your point and even agree but I am 100% confident that Pickens will return for 2026. No way, Jerry is NOT bringing back. He was too good.......

That's the real question IMO.......

This shouldn't really be a question. Both. They can structure Pickens to be a low to moderate cap hit for the next two years.

All of Max Crosby's remaining years have ample room for restructure. Just because they're good players, doesn't mean they have to be high cap hits. But Jerry is not known to take this route. When Jerry extends players, it's with future years in mind. Doing what I suggest puts the Cowboys in a poor cap situation 3-4 years down the road.

I say Crosby should be the target, if possible. He's just as disruptive as Parsons is, and with Clark and Williams also on the D-Line the Boys might find another gear.

This and Clowney I am good with this.

Crosby would require high round draft picks.

Not the same type of situation.

Plus, we've already traded picks for Pickens. Not paying him means we gave up those picks for just one season. That's not a good trade using anything more than a late-rounder.

Crosby not only costs us Pickens-type money, but more picks. Of course, I'm for trading picks for players now, so I'd go for him and keep Pickens, too. These either-or scenarios are unnecessary.

2. Go through weeks and months of contract controversy and then he signs elsewhere

Both. Then cut some players..... Diggs and Steele. And Bland too, if need more.

The cap hit for cutting Bland is $30 million. Even as a June 1 designee, we don't really gain any cap relief for cutting him.

Diggs and Steele would bring cap relief, but we can create plenty of space simply by restructuring deals. We don't have to cut anyone. If we cut Diggs and Steele, it's because we don't want them at their price.

How about neither and use picks to move up near the top of the draft and get best available edge rusher. We could have had Jerry Rice in the mix and still miss the playoffs. These high priced FA's rarely ever work out and you continue to hamstring yourself for years...especially when the FA's are like crack to Jerruh and he just can't help himself. This organization is a dumpster fire.
