Cowboys Dynasty: The New Hope

"Lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch'intrate"

"Abandon all hope, ye who enter here"

The only three good things about the Dallas Cowboys is their legacy, their Cheerleaders and this website.

Venture outside any of those three and you'll be completely disappointed.

Is it too early for the gameday menu thread?
whenever i need a pep talk, i know where to turn

When Jerry passes but nothing changes it’ll become clear that Stephen has been running things for some time now.
I have believed this for years now. I think Jerry has been preparing his son since around 2012 maybe 2013. That's around the time the Cowboys offseason standard operating procedure changed to what we have now.

I'm sure Jerry can do what he wants, when he wants. I just think he's letting his son run things for the most part. Otherwise I'd have to believe Jerry changed. I don't think he did.

When Jerry is gone. How do we know it will be Stephen at the reigns. It could be Charlotte.
However does Stephen still have control of the money for FA.

How do we know Gene Jones will not be involved somehow. Appointing Charlotte as taking control.
Or will it be team run by family committee.

What ever it is, nothing will change until they figure out how to build a winning roster.
Isn't this always the problems for businesses? The succession plan.

I just hope it focuses on winning the SuperBowl.

If it focuses on extracting year over year growth as the driving metric then I would be concerned.

I’ve asked this plenty of times especially concerning the wife. How do we know she won’t make the decisions as far as this team goes. Usually, after a death of the main owner, doesn’t it fall to the spouse? It did in New Orleans and Houston.

Btw, to the op, Stephen isn’t pushing 60. He’s over 60. Charlotte is the one turning 60 this year. I still maintain Stephen doesn’t have the personality, charisma, salesman attitude, and aura like his father. The media knows this.

As fans realize there's no incentive for a current HOF, three time Super Bowl owner who's in their mid 80s to win another SB, there's a little known fact that could compell his son to win another.

There are only two father and son HOF owners. Those franchises are the NYG and the Stealers. The second generation went on to win multiple SBs which propelled them into the HOF.

I believe Steven is that guy who wants a place in the HOF so he'd better get a move on because he's pushing 60. If he can win multiple SBs under his ownership, he'd be a first ballot, minus any scandal.

Only problem is, don't expect another SB while Jerry's above ground.
Well, that was depressing.

I get the skepticism

Stephen is Jerry 2.0 and actually, he may be worse.
He's worse. Jerry use to gamble on big names, meaning at least he had the incentive to push the needle. Stephen is just cheap.

And Jerry has in that one acting role he did, cleary said he does everything for family, meaning the franchise is staying in the family name..

We need to be looking 20 years from now. Sort of surprised one of Jerry Jr or Stephen kids isn't in a made up VP position to prep us for the 3rd wave of the Jones reign.

I've seen nothing from Stephen to indicate he's much different than Jerry. Hopefully I'm wrong, but it doesn't look great. I'm not even sure how smart he is.

I think he's the polar opposite and will be monumentally better. I've seen zero signs that he'll be Jerry 2.0, and lots of signs that he will be a completely different owner type than Jerry. IMO, and yes this is just opinion, I think Stephanie is only involved as much as he is because his dad wants him to be. My opinion. That's what the signs point toward.

'Why do people keep saying this? Stephanie looks like the polar opposite of Jerry.

I truly believe that both Jerry and Stephen are woefully inept and don't deserve their positions.

When Jerry enters heaven or hell, Stephen had best hire a competent GM to serve this team!
He has stated that he will.

Gawdawmighty, so many sheeples on here just repeating another silly little mantra: "Stephanie will be just like Jerry."

So, explain yourselves. He looks like the polar opposite to me. What exactly are you guys proclaiming you see that makes you scream he'll be just like Jerry? All signs point toward that not being true. Steph looks more like an absentee owner who will own the team but won't have much to do w/ the operation thereof.

Cowboys fans divide up into New Hope Cowboys and Darth Vader Cowboys?

Off to see who beat me to the ”profound” observation.

Darth had the better theme music.

Jipper at #11 reveals the truth first!

....Obi Wan' ....the force is with you. "A new Hope" .. ;)..
