Pat McAfee show on George Pickens

On a certain financial level it makes sense.

$25M+ for Pickens (and more next year) vs. projected ~$5M project year 1 salary for 12th overall rookie pay slot
It makes sense on just about every single level, and I say that as a Pickens fan.

There are the cap implications to which you point, and then there’s the draft capital/positioning sense that it would make.

The current Pickens setup is just poor asset management - especially for a team that considers itself in ‘win now’ mode (or next door to).

So, what we go into the season with all 3. Very nice luxury to have when we still need a DE, LB or 2, and another CB. But hey let's see if Dak can have more than 14 tds against winning teams over 10 games.

The sad thing is, Jerry and Stephen turned what was supposed to be a pre-draft information presser into a Pickens clown show. Even crazier, they didn't have to. A couple of general Pickens answers would have kept a lid on rumors and crap.

Mate, read the thread before embarrassing yourself further.

We’re talking trading Pickens. No part of that was unclear.

It’s classic Jerry. He’s such a narcissist that he has to constantly ensure that the world has their eyes clapped on him

I don't think it should surprise anyone that the Cowboys want to make Pickens prove 2025 was not a fluke before committing to him long term.

As for Tyson- remember the Cowboys picked CeeDee Lamb in 2020 with both Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup coming off 1000 yard seasons.

What would be hilarious is if we did take Tyson, then turned around and traded Pickens to New England, which would screw Philly over.

They are trying to push Brown off on NE but likely have to wait until June 1 given the cap implications.

If they go Tyson at 12 and flipped Pickens (like with pick 20 for Maxx and the raiders second)….and we got a LB with that pick and best D player in the 3rd and 4th or picked up another LB after other teams crusts or vis trades…..I would be ok with this offseason. Adding a legit pass rusher, better safeties, a pretty decent corner, and a couple new LB to go with a new scheme….i could see improvement and wouldn’t cry over losing Pickens. Talent wise Pickens is close to a first (I think Devante Adam’s went for a first and second to the raiders). I would be fine moving him for legit D help overall.

Tell New England if they can sign him they can have him for a 2027 4th round pick and they’ll be on the phone with Mulugheta in a heartbeat.

Brown is going to cost New England less in assets in trade and the Patriots commitment to Brown will only be two years.

They’re not giving up 1st or 2nds for expensive receivers.

Pickens and Vrabel
Would
Be fun to watch lol.
They’d kill each other lol.

I'm always excited this time of year. I believe the Cowboys can go a long way to help the defense this year and believe it will be a 2-year process. I will be very disappointed if they select a WR in round 1.
