Woodson vs Witten, who gets the HOF nod first?

You beat me to it. I don’t understand the Witten hate.........the guy was an absolute machine.

Some people need to let the Mexico trip go. Whether that situation was right, wrong, or somewhere in between, it has no bearing on his outstanding career.

Nah, if Drew Pearson made it in at the 11th hour, I don’t see any reason why Woody shouldn’t/couldnt.

Whether it was 2 years or four years, Witten's decline was more noticeable than Woodson's was, imho. Woodson maintained his good effectiveness from '92 to 2003, as I recall. He had 11 very good years. There's no doubt that Witten's last years were less than impressive. I still remember both as having especially great careers, however. As I stated before, Witten just stayed at it a bit too long.

Stop. You are remembering incorrectly. Why can't they both be HOF worthy studs? Why do you have to run one down? Makes no sense.

Who sucks next, Emmit because he played too long? Listen to yourself.
 
Another topic on this thread that makes no sense, why should it be expected a starter should help develop a backup?
So that player, on an entry level contract, could take his job at a cheaper rate?
2 TE set halfass gameplan or not, teams will cut someone as soon as their play declines and they got a competent backup plan.
Fasano was in 2006, Bennett in 2008 etc... That's 3 and 5 years respectively into Witten's career. Most players last 3-5 years in the NFL, and Witten became one of the minority to play 10/15+ years. The NFL stands for Not For Long, it would make little sense for a 25-27 year old to start grooming his replacement at that age.

Unless Witten was on a fairwell tour, and it was known to be his last year in the league, why help be replaced?
 
Based on the bias history, even Witten won't get in, but if Gates is there already, I don't see how Wotten won't be.

Sadly, Woody's only chance is the senior category one day.
