News: ESPN: Sources: Browns, Rams finalizing Myles Garrett blockbuster trade

I’m sure that’s how the Rams felt, but Overshown doesn’t hold anything near the value of the player Cleveland got.

I’d be interested in local reaction btw if you would. Different than national

I'll be sure to ask around haha.

Tbf, as someone who lives in Cleveland, I think the Browns were going to be bad this season anyway, and this gives Cleveland a good chance at getting a much better QB (again). As a Cowboys fan, we could have done something with Overshown for this, no?
How has Overshown have any value? Only chance was at 12 offering it up and multiple firsts whether 20 was involved or not. They could have drafted Bain as a replacement and equivalent to Verse.

They’re trying to win a way that’s only been proven to win once. They are trying to strike lighting in a bottle….twice. If it’s a 1st and Verse aye props to them you do that any day of the week.
I just find it hilarious some fans still trying to criticize the rams strategy.

Remember when they traded all their firsts for years and people were like “oh they will suck in a few years”.

Oops. That never happened.

Only on CowboysZone would I hear the sentiments Myles Garrett or Micah Parsons aren't worth it.

MG on the Cowboys would have instantly taken them from a borderline playoff team to a legit contender. I would have traded Ezeiruaku and 2 1sts for him.

In the end, they weren’t winning WITH Garrett, and they weren’t exactly on the verge either, so why not try something different and get multiple players for him?

I mean, I get it, but if we're giving up players, I do think Overshown is a highly talented player. When healthy, I do see him as someone that can be among the top players, and it would have been an interesting offer. Worst the Browns could do is say no, and maybe they did.
If Cowboys traded Overshown they’d probably get a 6th rounder back.

It's just mind boggling seeing Stephen Jones refuse to go for it for the last 15 years. And then criticizing the Rams for doing the exact opposite and winning the Super Bowl.

It would’ve. Doesn’t mean it was a smart deal to do if you are the Cowboys. 2 or 3 prime years is only worth so much for this Cowboys team.

Fair, and I DO like the picks we made in the drafts this year. I am NOT trying to complain about the situation with Myles Garrett. But I just thought it'd be interesting if the Browns would take that. I mean, could you imagine Myles Garrett along with Clark and Williams and Gary? And with our safety being Caleb Downs? Oh, and on the outside, we'd have Malachi Lawrence and Barham? That would be an insane defence. But I get we may not want to drain anymore picks. Especially high picks. So I get it.

No team in the league wants Overshown until he plays a full season.

There is more than two ways to win the SB. It’s more than just the Stephen way and more than the Rams way. Seahawks had a way too……as did the Eagles.

Stephen doesn’t have a way to win the Super Bowl. Isn’t that obvious by now. Lol

“Stephen’s way”. lol

Stephen has a way to be one and done in the playoffs. He’s an expert at that.

how much is verse alone worth? a 1st and 2nd? plus another first they gave. + “and more compensation”

love how our fans want us to make every single trade like we have the assets.
Verse is a very good player, but you’re probably not getting that much for a guy that’s yet to have a double digit sack total.

Myles Garrett is exactly the type of player that legitimizes this defense and instantly gives us the best from 4 in the league. Maybe the cowboys did make a competitive offer, we may never know but if Garrett is available, which he obviously was he’s the type of player you go get even if you have to over pay.

Or maybe a LB or DE that would be a quiet upgrade? There are a lot of teams probably trying to free up cap space. I remember when we used to made late trades like for Robert Quinn which we did in 2019. Maybe we can try to flip him for a player like that?
