The Rams are playing a desperate stupid game. I’ll change my tune if it works but I’m not sure this is a smart approach.

But I will say this they’ve done a good enough job with McVay to rebuild it up. If I had McVay I might be more accepting to this approach.

And Stafford’s 38. Davonta Adams is 33.

I contend it’s better to have 4-5 years of playoff glory followed by 3 years of being down than to have what we have - mediocrity. Not great but usually not terrible.

Besides…The “lean” years are when you rebuild. The Cowboys perceived “relevance” the last 30 years has translated into making the playoffs 40% of the time, and then doing nothing when they do make it.

My point was the rams current way of doing it doesn’t work too often. And a lot of luck is involved. The cowboys tried it one way and felt they got burned. Then tried another way for far too long. It appears they are now trying g yet another. Will it work? I’m not gonna defend the past 30 years and expect something different going forward.

Who’s ALL IN?

We already know this isn't how Jerry and the Cowboys operate. They want to be a solid team every year that competes for a Super Bowl.

Jerry wants his Forbes rankings and merch sales. Risking it all and possibly falling flat on the face isn't a gamble they will ever take on.

The Rams will win a sb and rebuild again before we win anything. Jerry's been trying to stay above the rim but even that has failed the last 2 seasons. All Jerry is doing is wasting years. He'll never be a football man no matter how much he wants it. That ship has sailed Years ago.

The LA rams have once again thumbed their nose at the draft and the old school ways that NFL executives traditionally have chosen to build the key elements of their team.

The aggressive and highly successful rams GM Les Snead has become the supreme river boat gambler of NFL executives by making a huge “all in” move to acquire two time Defensive player of the year and 5 time first team All Pro Myles Garrett from Cleveland. In exchange the rams gave up their talented young LB Jared Verse, a 2027 first-rounder, and a conditional 2029 3rd round pick.

Attention JJ and SJ: THIS is what you call “All in”.

What is admirable about this move is not just that Les Snead and the rams made this move. It was WHEN and WHY they did it.

• By making the move in the spring, both the rams and the browns have those players in place for all remaining OTAs, mini-camps, training camp, etc. (Unlike a week before the season…if you know what I mean)
• The rams have shown they are willing to take a big risk WHEN THEY ARE CLOSE TO WINNING IT ALL. Last year the rams were really close to making the SB, losing to the eventual champs, the Seahawks 31-27 in the NFC championship. It was clear they needed a better pass rush. And they got it.
• Now the rams have to be considered the NFC favorite going into 2026. They are (on paper) what appears to be a much better football team.

In short, the rams GM saw last year that if they didn’t “go for it” and make a big move, they would likely not be better in 2026.

And for everyone saying the rams are “mortgaging their future” by doing this - they have already done this in 2021, and have a Lombardi to show for it. No guarantees this trade will translate to a SB win, but it is a lot more likely now than it was last year.

When the Cowboys say they are not willing to take risks like this with draft capital to “go for it”, then they might as well say, “We’re just hoping we’re going to catch lightening in a bottle”. Les Snead is saying, “Hold my beer while we GRAB that bottle”.

Low risk, low reward.

And here’s the rams playoff record under Les Snead since he took over in 2017:

• 10-6, 2 NFC championships in 3 appearnces, and 1 Lombardi.
• Cowboys in that same period: 2-4 with a ton more draft picks and “financial responsibility”.

Who’s ALL IN?

First off, few know that current Rams GM Les Snead is the grandson of NFL great, Norm Snead. Second, how dare you say that Les Snead has taken the mantle of the "gambler" away from our beloved fuhrer, Jerry Jones. Third, I resent your beer reference as alcohol has no place in football management and it's sad to see the Ram's elite GM suffer from a crippling alcohol addiction.

As you know, our beloved fuhrer prefers to fly under the radar rather than be the NFC favorite. In short, Jerry knows exactly what he is doing and as he recently said about the fans, "They'll get what's coming to 'em. Just wait.".

Jerry talks about the importance of “stability” at the top. We certainly have that. The rams have more accountability than stability.

Teams make big trades all the time. Browns traded for Deshaun, Broncos traded for Russ, Colts traded for Sauce, Dolphins traded for Tyreek, Packers traded for Micah, Dallas traded for Q. It hasn’t worked out for any of those teams yet.

True but what made this rams trade for Garrett so intriguing is they made it while clearly being a traditional “one player away” team. They were 4 points from making the SB last year.

The dolphins, colts and Browns have not sniffed big success in decades.
