Why disguise and confusion is no problem for Cowboys Dak Prescott

GIN...you are too smart to try to do this. In order to make your guy seem elite you expand the field? Lies, damned lies and statistics. The other 32 are backup journeyman...most of whom are easily discarded. We are talking about starters. Some teams keep 3 QBs...should we expand the field even more?

Again, you say you are not a Dak apologist but the mental books you keep and the numbers you track give them cover. Dak is a mid QB...no matter how you slice it. Is Dak better than Caleb Williams? I dunno...the point is that it is a debate and Williams just got here 2 years ago and a had a horrible year 1!!! Give him 10 more years and tons of investment and then let's talk. Heck, we can talk right now...as he took a MIDDLING BEARS TEAM and put them on the doors of the championship game.

At no time in Dak's 10 year tenure has he had one year like Caleb. Caleb's regular season and post season performances MATCHED. He was clutch in the regular season - whipped Dak's lame *** - and then was clutch in the postseason. Dak has NEVER DONE THIS. Here's my list:

Google has Dak at #9 with this line: A consistent producer who consistently racks up massive yardage and commands the pocket with elite accuracy.

But according to your logic, we can't give Dak credit for "elite accuracy". We have to CONSIDER THE TEAM AROUND HIM, right? Just like with the defense you malign, Dak has 2 all pro WRs. So...you know...I say we debit Dak the "accuracy" and credit that to the incredible catch radius of Pickens and Lamb. See how easy that is?

Og, Og, Og...... bro there you go again with the lies. Cmon bro you're better than this.

Ive stated many times that Dak is NOT an elite quarterback. But you've actually proved my point by comparing Dak, a 4th round drafted quarterback to Caleb Williams a Heisman Trophy winning quarterback drafted in the 1st round.

Dak was drafted to be a backup at best.... Caleb was drafted to be a franchise quarterback.

Then the laziest comment anyone can make is "this quarterback whipped that quarterback head to head".... again, this isn't boxing. First of all,... Dak didn't have the benefit of playing against his own defense last season, but all of our opposing quarterbacks did.

If one quarterback is facing a 32nd ranked defense and the opposing quarterback is facing a top 10, top 15 defense, which quarterback do you believe will have a better game that day? Where does common sense tell you the better quarterback production will happen?

But... I'll play along with the quarterback vs quarterback head to head game with you.... Patrick Mahomes is elite and the current GOAT at quarterback, correct? According to your theory, didn't Dak whip Mahomes last season? Wait, wait.... Jalen Hurts is elite according to you guys but.... Dak spotted him 21 points and led us to a win over the reigning Superbowl champions, and guess what.....

Jalen Hurts had 2 All-Pro receivers, an All-Pro running back, the best defensive line in football, arguably the top 5 best front 7, and a Superbowl winning head coach. Dak whipped Hurts and Dak had a 21st ranked offensive line and a 32nd ranked defense after spotting him 21 points.

I didn't create your narratives, im just abiding by them. I thought i would try it your way. Its kinda fun to type stuff like that and conveniently leave out all the REAL reasons and intangibles that tells the real story how games are won and loss.

One last thing.... Jimmy Garoppolo is 4-0 vs Aaron Rodgers "head to head", did you know that? So according to your logic, Garoppolo was obviously a better quarterback than Rodgers, right?

It's not lazy. Caleb outplayed Dak. Again, just because certain analysis is uninteresting or misunderstood by you doesn't make it irrelevant. QBs regular consider the opposing QB...you know, the guy who you say is only a cog in a much larger machine. Mahomes has whipped Dak plenty of times, Mahomes didn't have 2 all pro WRs, and...it was still close!!! The point is that no human being alive who isn't compromised is taking Dak over Mahomes. But why?

Because we are not stupid and can separate his individual play from his team. This whole it's a team record BS is a smokescreen for folks who don't want to assign the LEADERS of this team with blame. I'm not blaming a backup lineman...I'm blaming the QB. Learn to discriminate.

Jalen Hurts MAKES MY ARGUMENT. You don't need to be a superior athlete or passer to not be a choker. Jalen has proven that if you give him an elite team HE WON'T BE THE CAUSE OF THE LOSS - MY ORIGINAL POINT.

Now...I ask you, has Dak proven this? NO...YOU YOURSELF ADMIT THAT HE HAS NOT.
So therefore, we can judge him as a QB and blame him for the lack of success...or at least give him "the lion's share".

Saying its a team game is not a smoke screen that keeps blame from any quarterback. Its called a team game for a reason. There's a reason there are 53 players on a team, there are 11 players on offense, there are 11 players on defense, there are 11 players on special teams.

Ive been saying its a team game ever since I've played Pop Warner, high school and two years of semi-pro. Ive been saying its a team game before Dak started playing football, so who was i trying to keep blame from again?

There are what, multiple coaches that makes up a staff? I have never heard one player blamed for the responsibility and duties of ALLLLLL those people I've just talked about above.

Maybe you can name me one player in NFL history that is held accountable for the responsibility of 52 other players and a coaching staff the way you place that responsibility on Dak? What other player had that attached to him? Give me a few names as an example.

Now back to this Qb vs Qb thing..... Aaron Rodgers is 0-4 vs Jimmy Garoppolo. How can this possibly be if Aaron Rodgers is said to be the better quarterback?

I believe Eli Manning is 2-0 vs Tom Brady in the Superbowl. Isn't Tom Brady THEE GOAT? So how is this really viewed according to the "head to head" narrative? How is it that a GOAT cant beat a quarterback in the Superbowl, who isn't even in the Hall of Fame yet? What does the narratives say about this phenomenon?

No problem until the playoff headlights hit. And this face starts.

This is 100% a real thing. Let's hope the defense allows him to dial it back, and just be Russel Wilson.

Oh you didn't hear? Dak is responsible for the shortcomings of the defense too.... i didn't make that up, read some of the posts in these threads.
Well, we have people like Rockport here, so it shouldn't surprise you.

That reminds me of you after your annual "I quit" post.

Here's another quote (from Freud): "The voice of reason is soft but persistent." Perhaps that's why you keep closing your mind and ears to any real criticism of Dak? The cognitive dissonance has driven you mad.
You still have your head in Jerry’s lap?

I don’t think you can hide in the playoffs at some point you are gonna have to make key throws even if a good defense and I don’t even know when or if this defense will ever be good.

Yeah that’s an interesting angle I’ve laughed at lol. So the offense has to be flawless and can’t make mistakes because if they do the defense will suffer. Some of the dumbest logic I’ve heard.

LOL...welp. It's interesting that no one said Dak is responsible for it, but he does have to overcome it - given his salary, tenure and the ungodly support he has on offense...specifically the passing game.

To conflate - deliberately confuse or combine - those 2 things is disingenuous and weak. It shows that one can't support Dak's compensation vs results and so they need a scapegoat - the defense! When Mahomes got paid and they lost RBs and defensive talent - he won. He kept winning. He even took less money and kept winning. Not so with our 4th round pick...he wants every dime and is a loser.

No he didn’t lol. He never took less money and he hasn’t won in years. He didn’t even make the playoffs last year. You Dak haters in rare form this time of the year lol.

Only if I see dead people. Let me be clear: I want Jerry to live as long as possible and his family to enjoy those years with him.

But Football Jerry is dead to me...and hopefully as regards the Cowboys he will be a non-factor.
That has to be the nicest thing you’ve ever said on the CZ.

"You can lie to yourself, but you can't lie to me"

From Google:

Yes, the historic 10-year, $450 million extension Patrick Mahomes signed after his first Super Bowl was considered a highly team-friendly "deal" for the Kansas City Chiefs. [1, 2]
The Chiefs masterfully structured the contract to ensure long-term salary cap flexibility and sustained organizational success: [1]
  • Record-Breaking but Flexible: While it became the largest contract in sports history in 2020, its unprecedented length (10 years) gave Kansas City immense cap flexibility. It prevented Mahomes from resetting the quarterback market every three to four years. [1, 2, 3]
  • Team-Friendly Guarantees: Instead of tying up a massive percentage of the salary cap in fully guaranteed money at signing, the deal utilized "rolling guarantees". This allowed the Chiefs to easily restructure the contract by converting base salaries into signing bonuses, instantly freeing up millions in cap space to sign other key roster pieces. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
  • Rapidly Outpaced Market: Because Mahomes signed for a decade, his annual average value (AAV) of $45 million quickly fell behind the surging quarterback market as other players signed much shorter, higher-paying deals. [1, 2, 3, 4]

I was being serious. It was a fair comment. Has someone hacked your account lately? Lol

LOL...I said Dak was an exceptional leader. I've said other nice things.

Thing is...I'm not a cheerleader so I have no obligation to cheer bad play, bad cap management, poor talent acquisition, middling QB play demanding top dollar and low-IQ gaslighting by Jerry and his son.

Daks a good to great qb in the regular season and has been been good, great, mediocre and bad in the playoffs. Has been bad against 49ers and the last GB meeting.

Why Dak is so polarizing to this site I don’t know. There are 6 or 7 guys who post the same talking points about Dak they almost look like bot accounts. How can you claim to be a Cowboy fan but 99 percent of your posts are about Dak? From who he’s marrying to the birth of his kids to mvp discussions….these guys hate Dak but talk about him more than anyone lol. What a time we live in.
Irony is, you post this on a thread, by some bot who makes the same claims at the start of every season, and then uses the same excuses at the end of every season. You mention the same few guys posting the same negative things each year, while neglecting the same guys who post their same positive spins every year. Then you yourself use the same argument that is made every years "how can you claim to be a Cowboys fan but 99 percent of your posts are about Dak?", commenting about the negative posters. When your question, which you pretend to be perplexed about, gets answered every single year, with people saying that Dak has had his chance, and they don't believe the team is ever going to do anything in the playoffs with him. Dak is how old now? How many seasons has he been the Quarterback? Do you guarantee success this year in the playoffs? Will you jump on the people making excuses about why we failed at the end of the season? I mean, people don't exactly see you as neutral or a voice of reason either around here.

I’m in agreement with you. Dak stinks. Now that we got that out the way….

I’m no voice of reason. My stance on Dak is clear. It hasn’t changed. Only thing that’s changed is I refuse to try and change anyone’s opinion on him. His resume speaks for itself. No hater or fan can argue against what he’s shown.

You have haters and lovers. You have people who post negative about Dak all day everyday. You have guys who post positive about Dak all day everyday.

The problem isn’t a hater or fan. The problem is the gutless spineless tribalism that occurs on the topic of Dak.

They know who they are.
