False. The Quinnen deal actually frees up cap room.
We all hate to say it, but give Jerry credit...
Can't sort him out until next year. Franchise tag negotiating window closed in July.Agreed, maybe it's more space FOR us to sort out Pickens.
Or tag him a second time for around 32MCan't sort him out until next year. Franchise tag negotiating window closed in July.
We can roll over money to next year's cap.
Most likely, they will tag him and then come to an agreement. That has been their MO. I think they've only had one player (Anthony Spencer) play on the tag two years in a row.Or tag him a second time for around 32M
So good that Stephen said we're possibly looking for depth!!!Our corners are good.
So in March of 2027 when FA begins. Step away for a few hours….and … BOOM …George Pickens wIll be signed by the Cowboys long term.Wow!! I step away for a couple hours and good signings happen. That’s awesome. Good job Jerry.
He just finds QB’s. Then BOOM ..they are down.I'm a little torn on this one....Sure seems like as soon as we commit to someone long term....they go South and get soft. Sinking a bunch of $$$ into a DT...He better not find the couch.

It appears to me that we had $5 million in cap space before this extension, so we should have $10 million-plus after it. We can create more if needed, but if we don't use it to add a veteran, we'll definitely roll it for Pickens.I forgot about that, but rolling it into next year can help us keep Pickens.
It keeps him from being UFA after 2027.Wow nice. Glad to see him locked up for a while
So glad he's gone

They have to fix CeeDee's money next season.Or tag him a second time for around 32M
True.We all know he's a really, really good DT and was very much needed in Dallas. He absolutely deserves to get a deal done to keep him here. So I'm happy to see it happen.
My only concern is his age. At 29 he is starting to get a little long in the tooth for a DT. And now we're going to pay him big $, $21M, $25M, $35M, $35M, $35M over the next 5 years.
How many great DTs are in the 30-33 yr old range in this league?
Google says: Positional Age Breakdown
hmmm that's just a bit worrisome to me, lets hope and pray Q is one of those "elite" guys playing great into their mid-30's.
- Prime Years: Ages 26 to 29 represent the peak performance window for elite interior defensive linemen.
- Youngest DTs: Rookies enter the league around 21 to 22 years old.
- Veterans / Decline: Noticeable performance drops usually begin around 31 to 32 years old, though elite interior linemen often play effectively into their mid-30s.
