After what the Cowboys gave up to get him, Williams could have had a double leg amputation close to the groin and they still do this contract. Not saying it’s a bad signing but everyone knew this would happen. He got most of Parson’s allotted money had Micah stayed in Dallas.

It appears to me that we had $5 million in cap space before this extension, so we should have $10 million-plus after it. We can create more if needed, but if we don't use it to add a veteran, we'll definitely roll it for Pickens.

We all know he's a really, really good DT and was very much needed in Dallas. He absolutely deserves to get a deal done to keep him here. So I'm happy to see it happen.

My only concern is his age. At 29 he is starting to get a little long in the tooth for a DT. And now we're going to pay him big $, $21M, $25M, $35M, $35M, $35M over the next 5 years.
How many great DTs are in the 30-33 yr old range in this league?

The 2029-30 years are likely outs for Dallas.

The Jets contract had him in Dallas through 2027. Dallas adds another year in 2028, then they see how it goes for 2029-30.

Odds are he's a Post June cut or traded in March 2029.
