The new defense can tackle

A Cowboys team that would tackle and do so aggressively, not chase-tackle.

On the local CBS pregame show. Or maybe it was on Special Edition.. One of the guys said, I think it was Nate Newton said if the defenses improves to a top 12, or plays like a top 12 going into the playoffs. They can do something in the playoffs.

But they must be a top team in some category.

Like getting turnovers, sacks, pressures, and a top tackling team, run or pass defenses. Be the best in one of those areas.
Which all lowers pints per game of course..

They looked like a competent team, even on defense. Preseason and second teamers for us have looked like clown shows for years. This group actually looked like a football team.

In the OP it literally is comparing last night to last years first preseason game.

If CP turns this defense in a 10-20 rank defense he MAY be gone to be a HC next season.

I've been saying this all off season. The Cowboys better get ready for a new DC pretty quickly because CP's time wearing the Star won't be long.
