Cowboys fans hit with major price increase attending AT&T

There actually was a way to travel to Cowboys games before today’s technology.

Cowboys had a Travel Club. We took it several times . Stayed at same hotel as team able to meet players, coaches and owner. First class. And not terribly expensive .Full itinerary was planned by Cowboys. Fun meeting other fans from abroad and local fans traveling.

The problem with today’s era is it’s encouraged and enabled fans to not be loyal to their local and regional teams . And why so many opposing fans in attendance .

Granted it does provide fans more opportunity to travel . That’s fine but in effect its driven up prices allowing season ticket holders mostly more corporate and businesses to broker their seats out which again drives prices up.

I’m all for progress unless it changes the dynamics of the game day experience and leaving out kids like me growing up and even adults who formerly were able to attend and take their family and kids .

Id love to own a Ferrari.

Assuming you had three meals per day and shared a hotel room with one other person, here’s how much you should expect to spend in total per day, per person across those three line items:

• Value-style traveler: $360.
• Moderate-style traveler: $455.

So figure that 4 people.
$2012, $2872, $5324 for each category, or anything in between.
However, the $19 a meal seems very low on the value.

But I say 2 nights stay so it is increased. You arrive at check in after 3 PM. Go to the park the next day, stay into the evening.
Back to hotel, then leave the next morning.

It’s all relative to a point . I’d be happy to provide you some comparisons how inflation in sports tickets has out performed new vehicle prices.

And some nice trucks are less than 50,000 . In 1976 I’d guess around $5,000.

I could buy a Cowboys ticket in 1975 for probably less than $10. I posted a stub from 1973 for $8. 10 times would be less than $100. And that was lower level.

Even if you use the $70,000 the differential for tickets it’s completed over inflated in comparison.

So how much does a family of 4 spend at Disney in a day?
I know they can get multi day passes. And usually stay more than a day.

But say they travel to Disney. Fly or drive. Stay in a hotel for a night, probably 2 nights. Buy one day passes. Then all the way over priced food and drink all day long. How much?
Then add the over priced souvenirs. As those are a must. Where at Cowboys game, merchandise is not a must.

We didn’t have those back in 1975 but according to AI Google the average new pickup in 1975 was $4500 -5500. Probably a Ford or Chevy.

Regardless based on the figure you presented even if prices increase a little over 10 folds it still doesn’t keep up with inflated Cowboy tickets .

I honestly am not sure. What was middle class? I am middle class. We are not rich. We do well, we make wise choices. We own a Honda Accord, Chevy Suburban, Chevy Silverado, C6 Corvette, Mazda Miata, Honda CBR 1000rr..... but check out the years of these vehicles: 2004,2000,2006, 2006, 2015, 2005. All paid for, only 2 have full coverage insurance.

My truck is ok, it gets the job done. BUT, Im not paying 1k a month for payment and insurance on a new truck. That is a CHOICE. I make more than most 30 year olds, but they are driving new cars. That is their choice. Instead of making car payments, I go to Cowboys games a few times a year.

It is about what is important to each person.

Looks like they're going to be posting the registration prices soon, but that's not something I usually have to worry about since I help staff.

And it’s getting outrageous in NCAA as well. Mainly just on big game matchups.

Like Texas/ Ohio State prices start about $900. But for Texas/ Miss St about $150.

Fortunately some teams and opponents in Division 1 major conferences can still get a ticket for under a $100 or close to it.

Which is more reasonable. Family and kids can enjoy that big game football stadium experience on a more regular basis.

I Attend games every year. This year I am going to home opener at AT&T, Colts game in Indy, Rams game in LA. This is not the 70s. Tickets can be bought online for relatively cheap. Southwest makes travel anywhere in the US relatively cheap. Google earth helps book hotels near stadiums, internet with priceline or hotels.com makes getting rooms easy. EVERY place I go to has a significant number of Cowboys fans. 30% of the stadium in Indy will be Cowboys fans, maybe more in LA. The LA Cowboys playoff game several years ago, 55-60% of the Coliseum was Cowboys fans. It was crazy. So before talking smack about ownership not caring about opposing fans coming to AT&T, have a clue what the world is like today. Those owners have no say so.

Raiders are the most expensive ticket in the NFL. It is an easy flight for me and I have still yet to go there. The cheapest ticket for Cowboys Raider is pushing 500 bucks.

We planned on a family trip to that game. Make a big deal out of it. Once I saw how much tickets cost I said, lets just go to a home game.

Individuals' disposable income is not uniform across the entire ticket-buyer market. Stadiums are filled with people who either sacrifice and splurge, budget carefully, or have incomes that easily absorb entertainment costs. Add that last group with the x-number of folks who are often professional white-collar employees gifted with corporate-purchased tickets as perks, and you are left with a significant segment of attendees who could not care less how much their day at the stadium costs.

Wait, are we gonna act like concessions at AT&T aren't expensive? Merchandise is also not a must when going to Disney.

Also, Disney is an all day event whereas a football game is 3-5 hours depending if you pregame or not.
