Cowboys lingering problem on defense is still their pass rush

Tams will be in a lot of 3rd and long because they can’t run on us. Blitz on 3rd down and tackle the hot receiver short of the sticks.

Yes, the additions on defense has shored up the interior of DL and hopefully brought much support for run defense but without a premiere pass rusher can we put enough pressure on QB’s or will we leave our secondary vulnerable again.

Obviously we are concerned or wouldn’t have brought in Miller who is on last leg of his career.

So despite all the optimism towards a defense which has obviously been upgraded on many fronts this remains a major concern which could thwart an improved roster on defense and top 5 offense from making the playoffs.
Consistent defensive pressure may turn out to be a problem, but I wouldn't read too much into what we're seeing through two preseason games. Most starters aren't playing, and the scheme is kept extremely vanilla by design. The preseason is mostly for evaluating guys on the roster bubble and their ability to execute the fundamentals against similar level of competition.

When the regular season comes, we'll see a lot more simulated pressures, disguised/rolling coverages and diverse sub-packages, with Parker moving guys around to create favorable matchups.

We just have to wait until the season starts. Haven't seen any of the starters play yet.
Of course . But I’ll maintain that with an upgraded defensive roster which will be much improved over last year the biggest concern remains is will we have a formidable pass rush.

Absolutely not. Pass rush is not that poor where it will prevent us from making the postseason. This thread is way overblown

Dallas needs someone to emerge as "the guy." Donovan Ezeiruaku is one of the biggest candidates. He's entering his second season and is considered extremely important to the Cowboys' plans for rebuilding the pass rush.

Dallas has added more talent around the pass rush, including Rashan Gary and Von Miller and the DT's are considerably more talented. That means the Cowboys don't necessarily need one player to replace everything Parsons gave them. They just need guys who can consistently win their matchups.
With all due respect, I feel like you might've contradicted yourself a little bit... unless I misunderstood. Can you elaborate on your point?

My concerns aren’t based on preseason which I’m well aware. It’s based on the starting roster we have .

And while it’s much improved we won’t know if we have a formidable pass rush until season begins.

Not to mention, you haven’t even seen any of our pass rushers play 1 snap lololol. To call this thread a joke would be an understatement
But the concern remains because we haven’t seen our pass rushers.

Nobody is expecting our pass rush to be elite

In order for it to derail our season to the point you are suggesting, it would have to basically be non existent. That’s ridiculous

It’s an unknown at this point . And a reasonable concern. While we know our defensive roster has been upgraded especially on interior of DL and in middle of defense our Edge isnt as established going in . And probably why we went out and signed Miller .

Yes , that’s fair. It won’t stop us from making the postseason.

Some need to get over needing a superstar pass rusher.
They said this is not what Parker's defense is about. It is about creating pressure from all different players and areas.

Both PS games with the back up they been doing that.
They also said last night on the pregame show. They are fine with the pass rush they have how.

And we have not even seen the starters yet.

Didn’t say derailing. Don’t put more into my concerns than stated . It’s a viable observation .

It is not why they signed Miller.
They signed miller to get better overall.

Miller does not need to start. And they said he my only get 15 to 20 snaps a game. But it is how Parker will utilize those snaps that will make a difference.

Too many fans over thinking this.

It’s undetermined at this point either way.

The bigger point is looking at this upgraded roster on defense going in is that if one segment could prevent this team from more success could be lack of a formidable pass rush.

I’d argue our pass rush is biggest concern on defense going in.
