Are Cowboys are the best team in the NFC East right now?

They have proven to be an elite unit, our defense was historically bad last season. This year's unit has yet to play a single regular season snap, nobody is taking the Cowboy Defense over the Eagles at this time until they prove otherwise.
I am. Unless you're just bad at analyzing and evaluating, you should too.

13th is elite? What are your parameters?

I just don't understand how people don't see the downfall of the Eagles. They might win 10 games at best.
I think there’s an inherent “to be the man (or team in this case), you gotta beat the man” mentality with some people. They’ll believe it after they’ve seen it.

But I notice that when I ask the direct question whether they got better or worse, I rarely get an answer.

Our excitement over the improved defense is warranted, but there's a very really chance that they're not going to correct everything in one off-season. Then there's our OL which will surely manhandle the punk teams and struggle with solid defensive units. I think it's safe to say we'll be contending for the NFC East, but beating out the Eagles is still a 50/50 conjecture.
Disagree. Eagles were not good last season. Fell off majorly. Let Dean/Blankenship/Jackson/Phillips walk, along w/ key backups. D had already fallen to 13th, and the O fell to 24th. Run game was 18th.

It's actually conjecture to see them as winning the East. Signs point hard toward not.

I've called several people out on it, crickets. They are not close to their 2024 super bowl team. They really look like they're falling apart.

I'm at 70% that we win the division.

Barkley's 2000-yard+ season carried them to the 2024 Super Bowl. Last season, teams clamped down, took Barkley away, and forced Hurts to beat them. He struggled ..........so much that coaches and teammates were privately concerned. Not to trash them, but as many say, we need to prove we are better; well, they need to prove we are not. I am 100% confident we are a much better team than last season.

Another thing....that's interesting is everyone keeps saying Barkley needs to be featured more.....guys who hit that 2000 yard mark or a big yardage year don't just get back to that. It's typically the downfall that comes afterwards. So we will see. I'm trying to respect their talent but it's so hard because you have to buy into Sirianni and I just don't. You have to buy into Mannion and I don't. So then there's Fangio and that defense and I'm pretty solid on to them big physical interior and solid corners. But there's whole at edge and the secondary. Just tough. And for what it's worth I'm sure Eagles fans can pick at our team and that would be fair. WE have our own questions too.

Their D is solid as they come, but they fired their OC for a reason. These aren't homer lenses.....just excitement for our offseason additions.

Jalen has gotten a few guys fired over there. I think Kellen and.....forgot the other guys name but Colts coach are the only ones who survived. It is interesting that Sirianni is an offensive mind but he won't take over play calling as if he wants as scapegoat to fire.

Losing a top 10 receiver isn’t enough?

Do you think they adequately replace the loss of Brown?

Based on his experience - and lack thereof - do you consider that a good thing?

How about the loss of their highly respected offensive line coach? Plus or minus?
Yeah somehow it's getting lost that the Eagles finished 19th in scoring, 24th in yards last year. I get that Patullo was a big cause of that, but there were other factors that are going to be present again.

This offense isn't the 2024 offense that's going to magically bounce back.

Brown is gone. Teams are going to stack the box more and make the run game more challenging.
Saquon is 29 years old, going into year 9, approaching 2K NFL carries. His explosive rushes (more than 20/30 yards) dropped 75% last year.
The OL: Stoutland is gone. The guys that played under him, like our guys under Callahan, will continue to excel, but depth will suffer. And guess what? Lane Johnson is increasingly missing more and more games, Cam Jurgens has lingering back issues which is obviously not good for a center.

They may improve, but I just don't expect them to jump that much above average.

I think the Giant's will surprise a lot of teams. Hopefully we won't be one of them. Philly will be Philly. They always seem to have a good record at the end. I think Washington could go either way. Pretty tough division. I don't think anyone is penciling none of them in as a guaranteed win.

It's hard to say what they will be like on offense. They changed coordinators after their offense stagnated last year and traded away their top receiver. They replaced him in the draft, but not all rookies are fully formed their first year. From what I've read, it looks like they are going to try to go to a system that relies on making plays off short passes instead of having Hurts try to beat teams with his arm downfield. As one writer put it, more "manufactured touches" with screens, end-arounds, pitches, etc. They want to use motion and misdirection a lot.

The Giants having new schemes on both sides of the ball might mean it takes them a bit to settle into it. Just like we shouldn't expect our defense to be fully formed in the first few games, they have to figure out both their offense and defense.
