The thing is we are talking about Sam Howell here. I get the fascination because he kind of has a little gun slinger in him kind of looks like Romo and Baker Mayfield and people like that. But he's not their caliber. He's a turnover prone journeymen. So this notion he was better than Milton....while true it wasn't like he was that much better and Milton did outplay him in the preseason games.
His numbers in Washington were equal to Taylor henike. I don't know why he has such strong support on here. Talking bout top 5 backup. Just because a team chose to start him for 16 games doesn't mean he's automatically a good backup

No, Milton has extremely good tools. At the QB position, that doesn't make him the better player.

Howell reads Ds better and can play w/i the system better. Should be more consistent. Milton makes big plays, but makes way too many boneheaded plays.
I do have concerns about Howell playing within a system. He has 1st round level arm talent. However he seems like one of those guys that has never really learned to use it properly. His one starting season is a good example of that. There were times he looked like he could be there long term guy. I think we were the limitus test that year. And we saw on tape that he doesn't know how to make more advanced throws against aggressive defenses. We baited the crap out of him, and his career as a starter was practically over. I think he needs to have learned to be a slightly more aggressive version of Cooper Rush

So this is the big question, who did he make room for

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not a big fan, but of the two, I have to pick Howell. Also I was really hoping Joe Milton would show more progress. He had a horrible third last game, and that’s trust going forward.
It wasn't horrible. By all accounts Howell did nothing but dink and dunk in camp and was not impressive. But suddenly one game with the 3rd stringers...and people think he'll be Nick Foles. He ain't Nick Foles.

Tom Brady, dink and dunk, methodical, that’s what wins football games, you take what they give you, he tied the game in the fourth quarter, don’t get me wrong. I don’t like either one of them, but Milton had a bad first half, he missed two wide open receivers, had the ball knocked down twice, he wasn’t looking at the lane

So as soon as Shotty decided Howell was QB2, he should of spoken to Milton, see if he was OK with QB3, and if not at least sort a trade.... especially if these comments are correct on GBag that teams were enquiring about our QB's
Apparently he didn't ask for a release. I just think more happened or I hope more happened because otherwise it doesnt' make sense.

Lol had the 3 longest passes completed in the preseason games lol I guess you didn’t watch any games!

All of this may be true......but at the end of the day what I witnessed with my own two eyes is Milton looked better in the preseason games. He just did. We can't deny that. Milton outplayed him in the 1st two games and Howell outplayed him in the last. The only QB I saw making boneheaded plays and reads were Howell. I don't deny Howell may be better he should be he's a vet. But he didn't look better and that's ultimately what should've been the gauge.
But he practices better. So if the league ever decides to eliminate games and just practice then we are set. We have our future franchise practicer. Boom, take that Eagles GM

Cue to Allen Iverson’s practice gif.

Yeah, Howell was pushed into a starting position way too early on a bad team. Not sure what we have, but apparently the coaches are happy w/ him.

Man what's your infatuation with him, I bet your weren't that happy with him when he was with mase , big, cease, Kim and all them lol
Never liked him. Never in my life. Even as a child i'd see him and know something is not right with him. He doesn't close his mouth and he looks sneaky.
