If he was tanking he would play Milton. His upside is high, but right now I’m betting that Howell would win more games this season than Milton would.

I question if Milton would ever even approach his ceiling at all.

He’s going to be the next generation’s Josh Johnson.

Not yet. His agent is busy contacting the other 31 NFL teams, the eight UFL teams, the nine CFL teams, and LSU before considering a return to the Cowboys.

I will admit one thing. I’m a Milton fan and was surprised when he was released, so with that being said I’m more shocked no one claimed him. I thought he’d be scooped up in a minute. So I admit that it is a telling statement no one claimed him. I didn’t see that coming.

I think what they did was check on who wanted him and protected him on the original 53 and then waived him after those teams locked up their rosters.

I also think it has to do with the number of spots available. Most teams keep three QBs at most; some keep four. Teams carry up to six defensive ends and more than one of them is needed at a time. At least four play in games while only one QB does. Obviously, if teams are convinced that Milton is going to be a top QB, they sign him and cut one of their guys. If not, then they go with what they've got.
