I think what they did was check on who wanted him and protected him on the original 53 and then waived him after those teams locked up their rosters.
May be some truth to that. You know that NFL teams check around the league to get a feel for the possibility of losing players. They know who is liable to be claimed. It's not perfect because it only takes one team having interest, but I'm sure they gauge it as best they can.

I will admit one thing. I’m a Milton fan and was surprised when he was released, so with that being said I’m more shocked no one claimed him. I thought he’d be scooped up in a minute. So I admit that it is a telling statement no one claimed him. I didn’t see that coming.
Coaches are looking more for who can operate the offense in full and move the ball consistently against top level defenders.

Get the play over the headset, call it in the huddle, get everybody up quickly, read the defense to adjust blocking and call for motion, then snap it and read it quick to get the ball to the right place. Then do it again and again and again. More than anything, don't miss easy throws and do NOT turn the ball over!

Splash plays aren't the determinant, especially against backups. Splash plays are great, but you don't rely on them. Gotta move the ball first and foremost.

As Parcells always said...any possession that ends in a kick is good. Extra points, field goals, and punts are all OK.

No really because if they want him, they can release somebody.

I think Dallas tried to trade him, but couldn't get a high enough pick to be worth it, so they took their chances in waivers.

There is surely a grapevine network. Friends talk. People do favors. It's how humans are, the NFL is no different than anyother human endeavor.

I'm pretty sure that's how we kept Flo last year.

He hasn't been claimed. He's been a free agent for about an hour now.
So if he is a FA then does he renegotiate a new contract if he signs with us on the PS or signs with another team or does he keep the same contract he got as a rookie? Cause he could be negotiating with other teams or Dallas right now.
