I'm just saying fans are saying Jerry forced Eberflus on No-Schott without any real evidence that is true. I'm not saying it couldn't be true.
Fans want to cling to hope that things have changed just because we got coaches now that they don't think Jerry played a role in getting. I think that's wishful thinking. And I do think there's evidence there if we look back over previous coaches. As I've said, when Mike McCarthy was hired as head coach, he brought Mike Nolan in as his defensive coordinator. Jerry had no prior experience with Nolan, so was that Jerry's hire or McCarthy's? Jerry had no prior experience with Quinn, so was that Jerry's hire or McCarthy's?
Now, I absolutely believe that Jerry has given his input over and over again. McCarthy kept Moore as his offensive coordinator. Was that Jerry's influence? I think so. But I just don't see where what he has wanted to do has been a deal breaker for any of these coaches.
I mean, if he wants Eberflus and you want to be a head coach and don't really have a strong preference for who you want as your DC, why wouldn't you go along with it? If he wants to bring in Terrell Owens or George Pickens, then unless you just are absolutely against it, why wouldn't you be willing to accept that?
Some like to say that TO was forced on Parcells, despite him saying that was not the case. Now, it's clear that Parcells would not have gone out and gotten Owens on his own, but Jones wanted to do it and Parcells was like sure, why not? Let's give it a try.
I think it may be a similar situation with No-Schott and Eberflus. Sure, why not?
