Is there any credible evidence beyond fans speculation Jethro hasn't been involved in offseason?

I mainly follow local coverage of Cowboys so may have missed an official announcement or Jethro conceding he’s hasn’t been involved in bringing in new talent in FA and draft on defense.

Keep hearing claims that the better decisions and acquisitions this offseason must mean he isn’t as involved. I’ve been traveling quite a bit this year so maybe I missed some coverage or admissions from Jethro as such.

I must remind fans we have built some other playoff teams this era with Jethro and as recent as with McCarthy had a 5th ranked defense. So it really isn’t that much of a stretch he was involved again.

As long as he is GM, he still gets credit. Same reason he’s been blamed this era. I’ve been a huge critic and I’d lead the parade if he was stepping back.

When was the last time Jerry picked a player in the draft? He wanted Manzel the Circus Act not the player. He rubber stamps the picks and he may break a tie once in a blue moon, but he isn't picking them. You think he knows who the Left Guard for Marshall was last year?

I'm sure he was involved with Von Miller and Crosby and Hendrickson. He knows them. He knows we need a pass rusher. He knows the cap space and blesses what we spend in free agency and big trades for sure and what we give back.

Understood but it’s why I enjoy pushing back cause many are “convinced it’s almost fact”.

And if it doesn’t come to fruition in January they will probably be right back here claiming Jethro derailed it. Lol

All that said this effort to push back in no way or shape is a push back on the good efforts and moves in offseason to rebuild defense and the prospects it could potentially bring. Only that Jethro wasn’t still involved or has in any official capacity stepped back not taking credit.

You have every right to “push back” on the narrative that “things are different”. Just like our hyped-up fans here also have the same right to proclaim “this year is different….”, lol.

That’s what makes our forum here work. Everyone’s opinion is welcome. As long as we respect those differences and let everyone “fan as they choose”, this place is great for all Cowboys fans.

Once this all reaches its potential in the playoffs , assuming it does, then the accolades can begin.

Yeah I’m sure people will have that talk. For me personally I just take things into effect knowing Jerry is the GM here and it will confirm for me that no one will be the right hire if it doesn’t work.

I’m of the belief if Sean McVay was here we’d fail. I consider him the best coach in the league. My view would change if Shotty can win here. I’ll admit I was wrong then.

And Jethro has listened to other voices this era like Parcells and even McCarthy who with Quinn built better defenses. So this isn’t necessarily something new for Jethro. Ultimately he’s still making final decision.

I have not heard any statements saying, "Jerry is not making decisions anymore, he has given those to Stephen, Will and Schotty." By the way, Jimmie Johnson said that he could work for Stephen but not Jerry when he was here.

Jerry in the 90a isn’t the same Jerry as we have today. For the record I don’t think Jerry has relinquished control I just think he’s leaning more on his hired hands and they are more qualified than in years past. Shotty ti me is more intuned with what works then McCarthy was.

You have every right to fan how you want. We all do. I’m taking a wait and see approach but I’m gonna commend them for when I see them do something smart because I’m not use to it.

It's called looking at what the team has done and making assumptions/projections based on what someone is seeing. It's a message board it what a lot of people come here to do. Does not make them right or wrong it is discussion and projections based on the data we have so far.
