I feel that many Cowboy fans are actually happy that they lost.

It reaffirms their victim mentality, PTSD of the franchise and hatred of Jerry.

And I think many Cowboy fans are just blind Homer's who don't want to accept the truth and get angry when they're proven wrong again.

Many expect a playoff appearance. And that can still happen. Week 1, come on.

The talking heads, while I agree weren't predicting SB, gave us a legit chance in the NFC. And if anyone scoffed at it they were labeled haters.

There was never 'everyone'. A viewpoint can always be made without exaggerating. It is not hard. In fact, it is easy.

..the silver lining in this. They lost by a score.

But because NYG stayed on field so long, the NEW defense was not suppose to let that happen.

Thats the conjecture on this, or over-reaction.

PS ...the super bowl idiom is every year for every team. Dallas beat some life into it, by getting DC and players.

They also lost because they scored 7 points in the first half, turned the ball over and allowed the Giants to double dip and build a 14 point lead before they saw the ball again.

The ole shoe salesman got you again? He got you to buy another pair of shoes you don't need that won't last? He promised he was going to build the "best culture in pro sports" and you believed No Schott? As a life-long shoe buyer and victim of this con man, let me share some advice - which came from a former Cowboys coach - that will save your job, family and peace of mind as a Cowboys fan:

• "Don't eat the cheese": Every offseason, Jerry sells Super Bowl. I can remember when he was selling 10 wins in Quincy Carter's first year with Campo...and I bought into it! Troy Hambrick anyone? Alundis Bryce? His momma was told by Jerry that there was NEVER A COWBOYS PLAYER MORE LOVED than him...and this was a decade after the 3 SBs!

• "Put away the anointing oil": Remember when CeeDee wanted to wear #10 in honor of D. Hopkins and Jerry sold him on 88? Who didn't love that move? But it was all done to bamboozle you! CeeDee is NOT Michael in any way shape or form. Do not believe that all these young players that they overhype EVERY YEAR are a "the next version of" any former Cowboys great.

• Watch other teams: The NY Knicks just won. Giants have a new coach. 25th anniversary of 9/11. New football season. Cowboys have dominated the Giants for a decade. NOT THE TIME TO BE COCKY AND OVERCONFIDENT. Parcells would often tell his better teams "Don't eat the cheese" and then warn them about bad teams being a buzzsaw. Only listening to and watching local media makes you think other teams didn't also get better.

• "You are what your record says you are": George Steinbrenner was all about winning. Almost irrationally. Hal...not so much. 12 baseball teams make the wildcard so...as long as we get some postseason revenue...we're good. Jerry is the same but you guys buy his lies! Winning organizations like SF, Baltimore, New England and yes Philadelphia...they get the VERY BEST COACHES and then center all decisions around WINNING. And if the standard isn't met they don't give McCarthy 3 years to collapse late in the season and then another just because! They fire Andy Reid and dump McNabb to get the best guy! McNabb had been to 4 NFC Championship games and 1 SB...and yet...we are stuck with a bloated salary and mediocre results - and the Jones's couldn't be happier.

In short, wake me up when a Parcells is hired - a man who can't be bought or silenced by the sweaty-browed con man. I hated that ole carpetbagger Parcells when he got here ...but on reflection...he was giving us the antidote to Jerry's BS. He had to UNDO THE CULTURE that Jerry instilled after Jimmy left...and the only way to do that was to remove the SELF DELUSION.

I was trying to be optimistic and predicted 9-8. But we are probably looking at a below .500 team.

That's what they looked like on Sunday. I'm not surprised Harbaugh out coached us. But the players looked bad too.

Defense was so bad last season I was expecting an improvement, especially after all the trading and great draft we had
I don’t recall, ever mentioning Super Bowl,
Winning nine games last season with the horrible defense I figured we would at least win two more making it 11, that was the extent of my expectations
