What happened to you, Jazz? You used to be a reasonable member of this board. Now, you just seem to be like Rockport, out to disparage anyone who isn't happy with the direction of this team or what they see on the field.

It's not all sunshine and lollipops and it should be OK for those who don't like that to express themselves without being labeled a hater or subjected to other labels by those who want to be optimistic fans.

I don't expect this post to be well-received by you or others of your ilk, but seriously, I used to enjoy talking Cowboys with you, but now, it just seems that all you want to do is be disgusted with those who are frustrated and want to say so.

Schotty is not the answer, he is Garrett 2.0
Dak is not the answer, he is a good regular season QB who folds in the biggest moments and in playoffs

Jerry is the problem. The rest is just moving deck chairs around on the Titanic, whether it's Gailey, Campo, Parcells, Phillips, Garrett, McCarthy or No-Schott or (late career) Aikman, Romo or Dak (and others in between).

Yeah. The 6 win season was the first year after Jason Garrett got punted. McCarthy had to clean up that garbage so of course his first year was going to be a bad tear. As for the 7 win season, could that be because the Joneses got rid of our talent and didn't do a damn thing to replace them? Add in the Micha Parsons drama and that was a recipe for disaster. Continue to stay blindfolded. Those 3 12-5 seasons back to back to back is more realistic to what McCarthy is as a head coach. Will he bring you to a Superbowl? Granted yes, he has one but I doubt he could do it again. But he's not as people want him to be... Sorry to burst people's bubble about him.

Correct. However, it's hard to put the correct pieces around Dak paying him 60 mil/season.

That market thingie is a copout. If any player is screaming for a huge salary and is not worth it, you must move on.

A few years ago it was already obvious that Dak expected to be paid overmarket. At that point a trade should have been thought about. Due to not having a competent GM, it was not even considered.

I think there's a level between those two extremes. He could have simply said we've got to do better than that and we expect to do better than that.

I do believe it can continue to be addressed and put out some measurable improvements though.

If we do see progress every week and can identify the remaining areas of need from now til September of 2027 my expectations will be mote realistic

I saw some of the same problems that we had last year under Eberflus, even if we improved the talent. When you are running complex schemes in your first year (particularly zone), it's hard to get everyone on the same page right off the bat. If players have to think too much about where they are supposed to be on a given play, then they are slow to react to it. Defense generally isn't I do this no matter what, it's I do this unless the offense does that, then I do this unless the offense does that, then I do this.

I would expect to see some progress as we go forward, but it's hard to say how much and how quickly. I think the teams that succeed early on defense have an established scheme that the players know or keep their scheme relatively simple and add complexity as the season progresses.

We had a whole lot of players out of position Sunday night. I consider that to be on the coaches.
