Stephen thinks Porter allows Bland to play his true position and will help Revel develop

Blands pick 6 days was when Diggs could handle the boundary side.
Yes

Yes, Field Side gets more Safety help because it's the wide side.

As you know it's more often discussed in college football because the hash marks are wider making the difference in sides more extreme.

I thought this might be more of a case of Revel not being there yet and Durant being worth what we paid for him, which means more depth than quality starter. With both of them battling injuries, it made it more imperative to get a starter opposite Bland.

I still think Parker primarily wants a safety in slot.
Downs might have to play more Safety due to injuries...
- Thompson
- Hooker
- Locke

If CBs Revel or Durant are healthy then Bland or Durant could play slot with Downs playing more Safety.

i.e. Porter gives them more overall depth in the secondary.

It'll be interesting to see what they do with it, especially if the top safeties stay sidelined while the corner depth returns. Right now, I'm not sure who's going to be healthy first.

Frankly, I think Durant might be better served in the slot than he is on the outside.

Why even post this garbage who cares what this idiot thinks.
Because this is a Dallas Cowboys fan forum?

Whether you like Little Enos or not, whether you think he has no clue about football. At the end of the day someone who is in FO of the team is talking about the team and that is of interest for a fan forum.

Not being rude. Just pointing out why someone would post this, even if the OP does not think Little Enos knows anything or not.

The last time I heard him use this type of language was when he was breaking down why Isaiah Stanbeck could make the transition from QB to WR...because he had the same height, weight and speed of TO. I SWEAR I'm not making this up!

Echoes what Cody Alexander of Match Quarters said on the Fan. I'm glad they realized that they needed a true CB1.

Of course this is based upon Stephen’s keen eye for talent evaluation and knowledge of the defensive scheme…what a clown.

I wonder if they're wondering if Revel will ever be dependable. First he takes two full years to come back from an ACL, now he acts like he's blown out another knee only to find out it was minor. Maybe he's not tough enough. And other than a couple of times, he doesn't seem to want to tackle anyone.

Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones said on @SASportsStar that talks with the Steelers about Joey Porter Jr. started at the beginning of the season.

“This definitely checks a big box for us. This will allow (Shavon Revel) to continue to develop and learn from one of the best. (They) have the same body type. They’re the same type of players.

“Certainly, I think it’s (also) good for (DaRon Bland). We can put Bland to the field (side) where he can make plays on the ball, which is what he does best. Put Porter in the boundary against some of the top receivers in the league, and he’s proven he can do a good job against those guys.

“It certainly checks a huge box for us. But I think it also makes a statement as to what the organization, the coaching staff, the players, we feel like we got a great football team.”

for those wondering what boundary vs field is. i found this post that explains it pretty well

basically bland needs help over the top so he can jump under stuff and run it back.

I truly believe that this move has accelerated the clock that’s already been ticking away for Bland.

The team can obviously see that they made a huge mistake in rushing to extend him (because they thought they were getting a deal).

I think they’re already crunching the numbers regarding how to reallocate the dollars going to Bland to eventually go to Porter.

You know what, I typed out a skeptical response about Bland but erased it and will choose to be blindly optimistic.

If thats the plan, then fine. Go execute it

Sound like another corner we had before named Anthony Henry. Had great ball skills but needed good safety protected
