How many of you have already written off Christian Parker?

I'm more concerned about Schotty right now. He has regressed as a HC. He's become a cheerleader and now, with him coming out and admitting that he cost us the game, he's also a laughing stock. CP will figure it out, pretty soon, he needs to learn how to deal with injury and shift on the fly, but Schotty is shot. I hope the team fights for him and prove me wrong
No issue with him admitting he blew it. Begging everyone for forgiveness for a week is just pathetic and weak. How can any of the men in that locker room respect this guy at all?

If you are already thinking this way after three games, then you never really gave him a chance. We need continuity on this defense, that can't happen if we keep replacing the DC. Get behind the man and give him a real chance. Same goes for Schotty. The players seem to be behind him so get behind him and let him do his job.

A little perspective.

I spent over 25 years doing property insurance claims. Wrote thousands of building repair estimates. Was very good at it.
But then I went to work for a contractor, writing building repair estimates. My first one, it was to replace some doors in a house for a remodel. Well, I wrote it up and gave it to the project manager, and he shortly returned it to me saying "This won't do, I need more information, such as type of hinges, which way it opened, style of door, type of trim, etc.

Never needed that for adjusting, but to order the doors all that was needed. Needless to say I had to learn more things to do that job.

But I did learn, not to brag but I turned into a very good construction estimator, even did project management after a few years.

It's been 3 games. He's new, has to get the players to understand his system, etc.

Give the man a chance.

Right, either they respect that he took the heat for them as he did and pay him back for it, or they see him as weak and soft. The problem around here is too often the players have been perfectly happy to let the coach take the blame while they sit in the background and collect their checks.

But on Parker, nobody knows how well he will do as a coach. He presents himself well at press conferences, but plenty of protégés of successful coordinators have failed as coordinators themselves. The truckloads of anointing oil rolled out for him were always ridiculous.

But in the very short term where everyone seems to live, people should like him more after the next two opponents we play.

Not yet.
But if at the end of the season the Defense turns out to be as bad or worse than under Nolan or Eberflus....it has to be considered.

However I think Jerry will give it a couple of years at least.

I haven’t necessarily written him off. However, the shine is definitely off. Other than two rookies, most of the other players have looked lost. The edge rushers may be the most concerning position. They look completely useless and I don’t believe they are that bad. I’ve noticed the edges standing still and watching the play. This must be a coaching point and I think very little of it. I’m suddenly very suspicious of the “pass rushing specialist” BT Jordan. As well as the defensive line coach Marcus Dixon. I don’t think they are very good at their jobs.

How many of you have already written off Christian Parker? Who thinks he is the right man for the job? Who is undecided?

I would love to hear some perspective on what you think we have (or don’t have) in Parker.
I only judge what has happened so far. So far, Parker gets an F. Way too many things that simply are not making sense.

It's also way too early for a final judgment. My grade is "To be seen."

There was a red flag in the offseason.

Normally someone who has no track record - newly promoted, new to the organisation - should come in quietly, get the head down and work hard to establish themselves.

Instead we got this online and media hoopla about how he is the best thing since sliced bread etc etc. I'm not a fan of unproven people generating self publicity.
I don't think he did anything to generate the publicity.

Undecided ............. unlike some of these liars who are claiming they knew it was gonna take a while ....... I really knew that and said so this summer.

We really will not know till next year ......... depending what happens at the head coach position.

3 games, three! We are ready to change DC..........
I mean, we are no longer judging or grading them by years but by games? How many games will the next one get (lol)?
:banghead: :banghead:
Well, this is a very small window. We basically have 2-3 seasons w/ this team to try to get into contention. Do we have time for him to learn on the job? Might be throwing away a season.

those writing him off are similar to those that expected a HOF coach and a top def day 1. knee jerk. by all accounts the guy puts in work and is detailed. he's never called plays before. he needs to adjust. maybe he would see things better up in the booth? who knows but 1 year and continually changing staff is not going to get this team where it wants to go. for me i'd need to years of bottom third Def to pull the plug.

5 DCs in 5 years would have to be some kind of record......he stayin

Yeah....I think Jerald does not want to switch to another after one year. So it would have to be historically bad. Show no signs of improving by years end.

Wait, what???????

He's been here a hot minute. Give the man a chance to do his job. Do you remember what kind of defense he inherited? It isn't going to get fixed overnight.

to be fair, some judged him before he coached a single game as DC-- saying he was a great hire.
judging the hire isn’t the same as judging the performance. i think he was an excellent hire and has had a terrible start. jury’s out on how his tenure will go

Never heard of the guy until Jerry anointed him DC. It reminded me a lot of the Garret hire back in 2007.

This seems completely unfair to me. Let's give CP a chance. Jimmy Johnson didn't fair too well in year one either. Geez!
He's being given a chance. We don't have the power to get rid of him, but we don't have to admire what he's done so far either. So, far he has sucked.
