Jerry on 105.3 the fan sounds just as interested in trading for another impactful player

How about we be open for business in march? Jerry is so close to having a Super Bowl caliber team but continues to give up draft picks to acquire talent instead of opening the wallet.
Yep, don’t have to fork over that signing bonus.

They think they are outsmarting everyone else but the reality is far from it. It ranges somewhere between delusion and conflict of interest.

Jerry is just dying to trade that first rounder.

Where’s the kid to talk him out of it when you need him?

Some of you want to do that…..but I guess you’re also figuring they are going to also dive into free agency next offseason. No, they will not…..and without premium draft picks, how exactly are you going to get better?

Unless you think this roster won’t need improving at the end of this season. You have to give the guys you got a chance and see what you have before they pi go adding on top.

They have zero clue when it comes to what to do and when.

Obvioulsy, it would be great to hit a home run, like Maxx. However, our draft capital is getting a little thin.
Right now, we have the lower of the Packers/Our first, our own 2nd and the Steelers 4th next year.
We also traded the 2028 2nd for JPJ.
I have to think with the Raiders start they are less likely to move Maxx.
I think Josh Swest could be had, but he would likely cost a 2nd or a 3rd and something else. Would you move the 2027 2nd for him? Would the Steelers 4th in 2027 and our own 3rd in 2028 get him?
Mack interests me. The Chargers brought him back thinking they were a SB competitor, and it's all gone downhill.
Could he be had for the Steelers 4th? A good chunk of his money was signing bonus so that's already paid. I know he's old but he's still productive, and that cost may work for us.
On the other hand, would a FA signings be close to Mack level but at no draft cost? I wish we had kept Clowney. No that he's great, but he is at least a rotational player at Edge. Right now we have Gary and EZ as rotational and not much else, and Lawrence is obviously developing.

Definitely open to acquiring any premium defensive player. We have holes everywhere on this roster and if we can add a guy that moves the needle, I’m for it

The NFCE is wide open this year. Dak isn’t getting younger and is balling out.

Time to push the chips in and try and get this D to be at least average lol

Josh Sweat, but what for? Certainly not our #1 or #2 in 2027.
Maybe the 4th?

The Broderick Jones trade doesn't look great at this time. If we still had our 3rd round pick then maybe that for Sweat?

He has two years left on his current deal but he wants new money. I like him but that's a no for me

If we win the next few I am cool with it

If we are 2-4 they better stay put
As a young Alex Haley taught us, "Kunta Kinte mean, flowing river.....Kizzy mean , stay-put".

Lets be "Kizzy" unless some absolute good deal presents itself.

I think the draft is a fun way to watch sports kinda but in April

But in actuality they haven’t built a contender through it for 40 years anyways , and I’m liking the trickle of talent

Pickens and porter are studs and if they walk you can tinker and get more picks

You get comp picks

You can always trade Tyler smith for some picks.

I think the dak window thing is clear to them . They aren’t going all in persay but they’re becoming more focused on the on field product and seriousness of it

They need vets

Overshown is retired

The safeties are no names

I'm normally a guy who likes building with young players in the draft, but right now, I'm kinda liking the idea of signing Bobby Wagner and trading for Khalil Mack. Mack wouldn't really block the development of Lawrence, whom we have a first invested in, and he's not going to cost a ton to aquire. He's still a damn good pass rusher and his cost, both in salary this year and draft capital to get is low. We'd have Mack, EZ, Gary, Lawrence and Von as an Edge rotation. Not great but solid.

Wagner would give us another proven inside LB to go with Barham and Winters. Winters to me is just a depth guy.
I know Wagner is old, but he had 162 tackles last year. By all accounts a great teammate and likely a great example and teacher for Barham, plus another downhill ILB to help in run support and give us better depth.Obviously, if something bigger presents itself we should look at it.
This would get us help at pass rusher, run support and not cost any premium picks.
I honestly think Overshown should be tried as a pass rusher, he just won't hold up in run support at ILB.
