What can be done to fix the team?

In all seriousness, I don't know you can fix this team without a complete front office replacement.

They've replaced coaches, coordinators, players and training staff many times over the years.

Jerry needs to retire or sell the team. Stephen needs to shift into owner mode and hire a real intelligent and no-nonsense GM.

They need to fire all of the scouts and draft/personnel staff and start over with a new mindset and philosophy.

They need to stop trying to remake the 1990s teams and they need to stop chasing the latest Super Bowl winning team trends.

After 30 years, it's time for an organizational reset, not just a coaching or player reset.
This may be true but its not realistic nor remotely possible.

And I can give you between 15 to 17 Billion reasons why

A 1,000 LIKES to you sir!
This is EXACTLY what needs to be done, but won't be done
because our GM is comfortable with the way things are.
So all we can do is wait Jerry out and hope Stephen hires an independent GM.

The coaching is obviously the biggest issue. The Cowboys have enough talent on defense to play better than they have. You can tell the defensive players have no confidence. They don’t know what they’re suppose to do. Parkers Master class has failed miserable.

On offense and on paper, the team has more than enough talent to be a top 3 offense yet last night they were totally inept. Dak was getting blitzed on almost every play and the OC had NOTHING prepared to face a Tod Bowles defense.

Jerry’s build the best, plushiest training facility at the Star. Everything and anything the players could want. He coddles the stars and lets it be known the buck stops here. Well Jerry, since the buck stops with you and you’re THE problem what are you going to do?

For the fans, what would you do to fix the team at this point in the season? Is there anything? The Cowboys have become the laughing stock of the NFL so something needs to change. Defense gave up the most yards they have all season to an undrafted QB making only his 2nd start on a 0-4 team. As the stadium worker said and so accurately, “Embarrassing.” Dak knows it and is why he got upset because he’s frustrated there’s nothing he can do. Every player should be pissed.

I’m not one to give up and I’m not, but something needs to change or they’ll continue to be the laughing stock of the NFL.

Go Cowboys!
a new GM to set a new culture.

this team came to this game drinking their own koolaid and thinking they show up and beat tampa...Dak said as much.
that's a cultural issue. Johnson would have been on their arses all week so they don't take this team lightly, specially on a short week
the coaches didn't look prepared. so players weren't prepared. and they looked shell shocked, like "wow tampa really came to play".

this is a bad team. bad culture. bad defense. if we don't score 30+ we have no chance. the defense is actually worse than last year.
I was waiting for 4,5 games to see how this defense is, and have seen no improvements.
secondary looks lost, and Parker is a DB coach.
only Braham seems to know what to do. winters is this year's Murray. he looks lost. he made so many mistakes last night
Gary is totally useless. he is no better than williams was.

and we have no pass rush.

Jerry will make a trade for a pass rusher. not a big name. he has to keep fans engaged and interested.
but there is more that ails this defense and this team than a mid level pass rusher.
the goal is to keep you, and other fans engaged. interested. keep the seats full. sell merchandise.

we look like a 7-10 team at best and that's not an over reaction based on last night. its based on first 5 games assessment.

If you’re a hater, which you are, then yeah, I’ll be ripping you relentlessly. Just like you rip me for being positive. Still can’t figure out the morality of that. Because there is none.
No one rips on you for being positive. There are a lot of really good posters who fit in the positive homer category.

People rip on you because you make it your life’s mission to be an absolutely horrible person to anyone who doesn’t share your world view.

Now its only week 5 and you create a thread that you would and have ridiculed others for making earlier on. You’re a hypocrite and a narcissist. That’s not name calling, it’s just acknowledging that you fit the textbook definitions.

Ownership has to either sell the team or drastically change how it relates to the team. The latter probably isn’t possible at this point.

The lack of self awareness and reading the room is startling

Its so bad. They are so poorly coached so unprepared. This goes with the country club culture not sure what they can do to fix it this year.

There is no way these players are that bad. They just aren't. We cut players in TC who could outshine some of the trash we see out there. Jerry needs to fire Schotty now, or this season is over. It doesn't even matter who you put in, because it can't be worse. The players are either really THAT bad, or the coaches are. And since we promoted a flunkie favor hire as HC, I'm willing to bet it's coaching. The players on the sideline look indifferent at best, checked out at worst. Do something while there is still time.

I know. We won't.

0 accountability equals zero results. Get a gm and let him choose the ciach and players and set the expectations on him to perform. We wont, hence the past 3 decades

Apply for a franchise in the Arena Football League.......don't really need a D and would cut costs immediately.

Jerry needs to step down. Stephen needs to hire a real GM.

New HC, at this point I would not even mind Tomlin.

Dump Bland, and all 3 TE's. Well, Spann-Ford is ok, but not as the starter.
Draft the future QB. Dak is not the guy.

You freaking haters piss me off. You get off your arse, and you support the loser head coach, the loser choking quarterback, and the gullible fans. After defeat, you tell all your family and friends, "This is our year; we're going to the Super Bowl". Then you scream at them, "How you like dem Cowboys"...........SUPER BOWL BABY!!!!!!!!!!! You quitting losers piss me off.

That about sums it up. The sad thing is, fans have been saying basically the same thing for some 20 - 30 years. And they've been right all this time. I couldn't stand to watch after the debacle playoff loss to Green Bay, and so I took 2 seasons off from watching any NFL football. Now I'm watching again and I'm like, "Yeah, I remember this @#$%."

Jerry's not selling the team, so it's going to be the same old crap until he dies. And, to be clear, I'm not rooting for him to die. I hope he has several more years to enjoy with his family. I just wish he would retire and enjoy that time with his family, but I don't think he will. I think this is going to repeat until we're all like, "RIP, Jerry, thanks for the 3 Super Bowls." And then we'll see if the new regime does better.

On point. It has been 31 years. The common losing denominator is Jerry Jones. As long as he is the owner, I don't see success. Just not going to happen. I will continue to root for a win game by game, but losing doesn't really bother me anymore like it use to. I am just quietly shake my head and laugh now. Which would not have been possible years ago.
