What can be done to fix the team?

The guy that calls ALL the shots must relieve himself of his duties for ALL decisions relating to "football the game."
That person can take the Executive role only, "the business side" but not doubling as the GM or even the Executive Coach.

Sounds familiar...
Listen, after Jimmy's time here, this organization in my opinion has been absolutely zero, ziltch, nada.
Then the Leader proclaimed there's 500 other "coaches" who can take this organization to the glorious SB years of the 90's.
What he meant was that there's only 1, the one and only...you know who.

Since that time I gave the "new regime" a "few" years to prove that. In my opinion and expectations it never happened. I have not taken this org team, serious since then.

We fans from yesteryear, continue to follow, root and wish, this organization to put forth a product with some resemblance of competition.3 I don't think we've seen that the past 30...that's 30...30 years and probably counting.

In summary, I still like to see wins, meaningful wins; the key, whether you agree or not, is don't expect it or too much. Do i get disappointed. yes. Upset, angry, looking for the cliff...NO. I know this org, you should too.

The only thing that will fix this team is very Jerry to step down.
He has proven without a shadow of a doubt he does not know how to hire HCs
or construct a roster.
He does nothing to instill a winning culture, rather his constant sunshine pumping and no accountability gives the players
a false sense of entitlement.
He has destroyed a once proud franchise.
But hey, he's made billions so maybe he is the real winner here.
The fans sure are not.
I’m starting to hope that Jerry is starting to understand that he’s the problem. He can’t keep blaming everyone else but himself. Put Charlotte in control and him and Stephen can sail off into the sunset in their multi-billion dollar skiff.

The coaching is obviously the biggest issue. The Cowboys have enough talent on defense to play better than they have. You can tell the defensive players have no confidence. They don’t know what they’re suppose to do. Parkers Master class has failed miserable.

On offense and on paper, the team has more than enough talent to be a top 3 offense yet last night they were totally inept. Dak was getting blitzed on almost every play and the OC had NOTHING prepared to face a Tod Bowles defense.

Jerry’s build the best, plushiest training facility at the Star. Everything and anything the players could want. He coddles the stars and lets it be known the buck stops here. Well Jerry, since the buck stops with you and you’re THE problem what are you going to do?

For the fans, what would you do to fix the team at this point in the season? Is there anything? The Cowboys have become the laughing stock of the NFL so something needs to change. Defense gave up the most yards they have all season to an undrafted QB making only his 2nd start on a 0-4 team. As the stadium worker said and so accurately, “Embarrassing.” Dak knows it and is why he got upset because he’s frustrated there’s nothing he can do. Every player should be pissed.

I’m not one to give up and I’m not, but something needs to change or they’ll continue to be the laughing stock of the NFL.

Go Cowboys!
Coaching staff needs to change but that’s not happening this year. They are who they are right now. It’s not working and I don’t know how these coaches will change anything because they may simply not know how to.

No one rips on you for being positive. There are a lot of really good posters who fit in the positive homer category.

People rip on you because you make it your life’s mission to be an absolutely horrible person to anyone who doesn’t share your world view.

Now its only week 5 and you create a thread that you would and have ridiculed others for making earlier on. You’re a hypocrite and a narcissist. That’s not name calling, it’s just acknowledging that you fit the textbook definitions.
Stopped reading.

My suggestions for the fans are as follows:

1) Spend all off season lapping up Jerry's kool aid and eviscerating any fans who don't do the same

2) Set yourself up as the self anointed "watchdog" against "haters" and "bandwagon rats" who question any strategy the Cowboys front office employs, or question any performance of the players on the field

3) Spend time during the season personally insulting anyone and everyone who doesn't agree with you. Added bonus points for saying things like "I'd hate to be in a foxhole with you". Double added bonus points for parroting your military service record as if it somehow validates your opinions at a higher level

4) Once the wheels start to fall off like they do ever season, feign surprise and concern about the troubles the team is experiencing. Post threads on the board 2-3 times per week accordingly asking for others perspectives as to what is going wrong, as team performance deteriorates.

5) Sometime around week 12-13 once the season is basically over for all intents and purposes--cling to one more miracle scenario where the season could be salvaged and we could somehow make a miracle run to a 6th Super Bowl

6) Once we are officially mathematically eliminated, post a 1/2 page "official surrender" manifesto, declaring that it is ok for all of the other people you have been savaging for 8 months to now quit on the season.

7) Disappear for several months, until we get nearer to the draft, at which point you return to step #1 and start the process all over again.

I know it sounds crazy as hell, but I Think it has potential. Thoughts?

So you are saying we all need to become Rocky?

I know someone like that. I forgot his name, but his initials are ROCKPORT.

A few things to try.

1 - CP has to lose play calling duties. Let Derrick take over

2 - no more 3-4. More 2 man press cover

After the season, fire CP and find a vet DC

We can discuss, we can research, we can analyze, we can debate, we can watch tapes, we can study, we can fight, we can argue .... just like all those 30 years.

NOTHING MATTER FOLKS!!!!!!!!!

Bottom line, one thing fixes this team

NEW OWNER

I'm with you on this. But your first sentence said it all. I don't think we can recover from that. It's still early, so I'm hoping things change for the better, but I'm not expecting it. Coaching matters, and we have rookies everywhere. Think about it, if John Harbaugh was our coach, do you think we'd be 2-3? Not a chance.

At this point it is the Cowboys fans that need to be fixed. Not the team. After thirty years, this structure is what it is. And Jerry has showed you all he is not willing to change the way he does business. "When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time." - Maya Angelou.

WTH? Team’s fine but the fans need fixing?

The fact that the offense was totally unprepared to handle a Tod Bowles blitzing defense is bizarre. I’d fire the DC and get a new offensive play caller now and then after the year sell the damn team to Mark Cuban or something.
Exactly. Where was the route adjustments to just kill the blitz.... they never punished them for that. Stupid coach.

Before Schott was hired I wanted a proven HC with clout. We seen enough of these Jerry "puppet HC's". WE need a HC that isn't buddy buddy with his players but one they actually fear. Jimmy/Parcells types who aren't going to mess around. Make a mistake, it can cost you your job!

Problem is Jerry wants to run the show and gives his HC zero authority. Every player knows the buck stops with Jerry not their HC. Until this changes, expect the same product.
The poop has to hit the fan really bad this year for jerry to consider letting Schotty go. A wade type collapse.

And jerry then has to see empty seats, big dip in sales to consider a strong head coach like parcells... we had a chance at Ben Johnson but he wanted a lot of control and say and was not in Jerry's budget whoch is middle of the pack.

The other option is Jerry passing away.

As flies to wanton boys are we to the gods; they kill is for their sport.

Agree and as the season is going, the first option may be rapidly approaching. I don’t think Skelton is going anywhere
