Shotty's no Mike Ditka. Who was a real NFL Coach.
My gut reaction is there are only 32 jobs available. So Jerry may be a horrible boss and toxic but the pickings are slim to begin with. Also the media coverage and the endorsement deals are favorable in Dallas. But you’re point is well made.Serious question: Why would any talented, respected HC or even rising star assistant want to come to Dallas and work for Jerry and Stephen? Who not only interfere but are also known to be cheap with their HCs?
Seriously why would Mike Tomlin or Sean McDonough want to be here?
On a day we mourn Mike Ditka it’s almost blasphemous to say Schotty’s name in the same sentence. You’re right. Schotty is no Mike Ditka!Shotty's no Mike Ditka. Who was a real NFL Coach.
It couldn't possibly hurt.Firing Schotty now won't help or improve anything.
But JJ doesn’t pay his HCs well at all. He lowballs all of themFor money and prestige?
I know that question started off as sarcasm years ago but evolved into a serious question in recent years, but I think the answer is more obvious than people realize.Serious question: Why would any talented, respected HC or even rising star assistant want to come to Dallas and work for Jerry and Stephen? You make good points, but the Jones family running the team isn't the reason why a respected HC would avoid coming to Dallas, it's because of how Jerry treats his coaches and how he takes away their balls. No coach since Parcells has even been able to hire his own staff, much less have a hand in personnel decisions or have any authority whatsoever.I know that question started off as sarcasm years ago but evolved into a serious question in recent years, but I think the answer is more obvious than people realize.
For years the fans who think the job is great have focused on how much exposure and attention a coach would get as the head coach the Cowboys while the fans who think the job is terrible have focused on no self-respecting coach worthy of being hired would want to coach the Dallas Cowboys with the Jones family running it.
The truth is those 30 years of failed seasons combined with having star players in skill positions and the Cowboys having the most market exposure in the NFL would set up a coach to earn massive respect if he was able to finally do something many coaches before him failed to do which is turn this organization back into a winning franchise again.
What makes it even more appealing is that even if he fails to do that, no one will think any less of him because the team had 30+ years of failed seasons before he arrived so it definitely wasn't his fault.
The bottom line though is that our next head coach will likely be yet another re-tread head coach, that had success long ago or prolonged "almost" success in recent years, desperate to get a head coaching job when no other team is calling them.
Yup, one of the facility janitors is as good as goneIf they lose the next two then come home and lose to the cardinals in Dallas. Someone will be fired.
One more paragraph and you would have been in azure sanguis territoryI know that question started off as sarcasm years ago but evolved into a serious question in recent years, but I think the answer is more obvious than people realize.

I think our Kid Wonder DC goes first. This Nepo Baby is sinking fast. He is 2-3. Chances are he will be 2-5 in 17 days.
Yoda needs to yank him soon and name him to quality control.
Coming at us@Green Bay and @Philadelphia are coming at us in no time, lads. These are bold, tough teams with healthy starter QBs.
Could he, should Junior Schottenheimer survive 2-5? He is teetering at 2-3.
When to cut Junior Schottenheimer
Can him now, I say, or when he is on fire?
Yoda, how will Junior look to you in 17 days?
To be humane, now is the time.
Parker? Phhht. There are many who could outcoach this dolt passed off as a genius.
His replacement?Great question.
I have no idea. And probably 90% here have no idea, either.
That, my friends, might be at the crux of why Junior is still our HC.

Indeed.Serious question: Why would any talented, respected HC or even rising star assistant want to come to Dallas and work for Jerry and Stephen? Who not only interfere but are also known to be cheap with their HCs?
Seriously why would Mike Tomlin or Sean McDonough want to be here?
Truth.Until the franchise is under new ownership, NOTHING will change.
Was Gandi or Mother Theresa fired after their first 6 or 7 games?I think our Kid Wonder DC goes first.
So because of your unrealistic expectations for a young defensive coordinator who has never been a defensive coordinator without a complete team he gets fired six games into the season. Yeah that's fairIf they lose the next two then come home and lose to the cardinals in Dallas. Someone will be fired.
To answer your question I believe if Jerry is willing to pay appropriately he can still sign whoever he wants for the most part.Serious question: Why would any talented, respected HC or even rising star assistant want to come to Dallas and work for Jerry and Stephen? That's the problem with whole "culture" approach. Its awesome when you are winning, but when you are losing people will question exactly what has changed.First of all I think Schottenheimer has lost the locker room al ready. Daks demeanor completely changed after the Ravens loss and so did Schottenheimers. After this loss you can tell Dak and the players are over the message Schottenheimer is preaching. Their body language says a lot. If this is the case then he needs to be let go. I would hate if they went and got Mike Tomlin. Hes overrated as a coach.
