Are The Cowboys Wasting Dak Prescott's Prime Years? G-Bag Nation

Well your summary states that Dak was instructed by the head coach to throw the ball away if his first read wasn't open. Pickens wasn't open before Dak threw the ball away.

I can't believe people are still making false narratives about a play that happened weeks ago.
You have a chance to win the game, where is your drive, where is your killer instinct to take the opposing teams soul? Like I said, missed opportunities

Well with no time outs left with seconds on the clock and the RT getting pushed back into you, on top of that, he was instructed to throw the ball away if his first read was open.

His first read wasn't open. We were already in fg range, so most people, former players and coaches agreed with not risking getting sacked there without any timeouts left and playing for overtime.

In most cases, NFL defenses don't give up a 27 yard pass with 7 seconds left. The missed opportunities didn't come from the offense, they came from the defense.

It was the offense that gave us the opportunity to march down the field to have an opportunity to tie it up and try and win in overtime. They played smart football towards the end.

Schotty even apologized for the decision HE made on that last drive. The following week, CD Lamb confirmed Schotty's bad decisions by saying the next week that Schotty didn't make the same mistakes he made in the Ravens game. Schotty owned up to being the cause of the "missed opportunities".

The better question is, what would you and many others have said if Dak got sacked on that last play waiting for a receiver to get open and the clock ran out without the opportunity to kick the game tying fg? Everyone would have blasted him for not throwing the ball away.....

Ask JD5 and the Commanders what happens if you take a sack or get tackled because you didn't throw the ball away without any timeouts.....

dak garrett is wasting the fans' lives. 10, 11 years of nothing, but we want the crap to continue. smh
Crash.......what about Tony Garrett.......you can discount him. Are we to forget him or erase his wasted years too? Our last 2 QBs have similarities that you don't want to see. Both of our QBs have been talented enough to go further.......we just don't have the winning culture or the front office expertise.

They both have the choke gene.

Well, you know, normally I like to bag on Jerry as much as the next guy.
But if it wasn't for the designing of offenses that Dak can operate efficiently starting in year one with Linehan he wouldt have been in the league more than 2 or 3 seasons.
Lord knows. I like to bag on Scott Linehan also, as I used to hate some of his running plays, however, he sized up Dak almost instantly and figured out what he was gonna need to be successful in this league.

Crash......If I were either QB's agent......Jerry would get confused when I say, "Oh behalf of my client, we need an addition to this contract, just because of the Captain-Crash hate, alone."

Romo had better skills, dak you have to carry him. How long do you want to carry him? That's the question. You got another 5 or 10 years of begging Jerry to get 53 All-Pros at every position so he doesn't choke?

Prime years? If we go that route this is probably his last year or 2 of peak and that's a stretch.

Much like Romo before him these bozo’s can never put it all together. Always something missing or wrong…..
If the Cowboys were doing this thing the right way they would be running a Shanahan type offense. An offense that has a bread and butter base of formations and plays that force a defense to react to it and NOT the other way around. A foundation that can weather the storm of aggressive defensive coordinators. Instead we have history of HCs and OCs that were too happy to lean on a pass happy system of "talent" that crashed when the tough moments arrived. No foundational resistance. No bread and butter. IOW...No identity.

Mark my words...you will see what happened against the Bucs happen AGAIN.

Romo had better skills?????.......says all I need to know. No need to start on Romo better landslide of posts. Not necessary. Tells me enough and I liked and hoped for Romo too.

The G-Bag Nation poses the question: “Are the Cowboys wasting Dak Prescott’s prime years?” What is your honest opinion of Dak as a quarterback? Does he deserve more blame? He’s been given the talent around him, but is the coaching staff helping him out?

My response to 105.3:
The very title chosen "Are The Cowboys Wasting Dak Prescott's Prime Years?" is coming from a faulty premise to begin with, that assumes "Dak would be a successful Playoff QB only if....."

Too many false premises to count. But I'd expect nothing less from the Cowboys Radio Station... Dak was not, and is not, and is never going to be a Playoff caliber QB. Dak has a ceiling, and that will not change, and cannot change, regardless of the talent, or lack of talent, regardless of the coaching, or lack of coaching staff around Dak. When you accept these Big Boy Facts, then all of the endless focus on Regular Season stats, and thousands of peripherals is totally meaningless.

Wait, these are Prescotts ‘prime years’?

who cares about Dak and any of his "prime years", if he had any.....i hate more that Dak, Jerry and (insert name of puppet coach here) have wasted our years. At least they got rich for those "wasted years".

And don't feel sorry for any other players' careers either, this is a job to them and they got paid millions to play. The fans get the short end of the stick as usual.

Yea the only wasted years were ours. None of them care about winning championships.
