Laufenberg concerned about Romo's back

Sound the alarms. Geez, a few of you are so sensitive to what the all-wordly media has to say, fact or fiction.

I am not a fan of Babe, but the guy actually has inside access to the team. This guy actually has sources and you guys finally question it lol. How ironic. I would listen to what he has to say. Makes sense why Romo isn’t playing in the preseason. There is concern.

If romo looked as bad as the op said it would be more than 1 person reporting it. It would bring out all the haters just waiting for a good story on the cowboys.

Time will tell. If it was a cyst, he won't have ANY problems with his back during the season. If he starts having back problems, and believe me you will be able to see it all over him, then we will know the entire cyst thing was BS. Let's wait until then to debate it...

Link to where he's not playing in the preseason?

Ugh. Romo isn't out for the preseason, he just may not play on the Hall of Fame game. I wish people would stop with the misreporting.

People tend to read and hear what they want to believe when presented with new material.

I agree that if Romo was looking that bad the media locally and nationally would be ripping Jerry and the team a new one.

Especially since he just signed that new extension.

Word is starting to come out that this was disc surgery, not a cyst removal alone.

He NEVER had disc surgery. He had a cyst removed that was pressing against his spine and caused alot of pain. And the one report you probably read was from Mac Engel. Because he's the only one even remotely speculated about it.

Erod you were once someone whose posts I really looked forward to - insightful, entertaining, and fact based. Not sure why you changed and became tabloidish, but your Chicken Little posts here and elsewhere are so beneath what you once were.

"Word is out there" - the last refuge of everyone who deals in rumors and avoids proof/facts.

"Babe should know" - Bull. I heard him write off Romo more than once, only to praise him as elite a week later. He goes with the wind and whatever Romo did lately. He doesn't have special access or info that the dozens if not hundreds of other media guys have. Probably less than a few.

"It's obvious it's more than a cyst removal" - No it isn't, Doctor. PROVE IT if it's obvious. In fact, you wouldn't need to post a Chicken Little thread about it if it were obvious.

Congrats on getting a lot of responses to yet another hysterical, non fact based posting. I say this not to bash but out of respect that I'm quickly losing.

Tony Romo has by most accounts looked sharp. Of course they will baby a 100 million dollar franchise QB no matter what the surgery. And so what he made "several" bad throws in practice. Wow, several? OMG

One thing for sure if Romo was looking bad in camp Babe would not be the only one reporting it. The major sports networks would be all over this asking what is wrong with Romo.

surely they wont let him practice if its serious? i would sit him the first three pre season games just to make sure he is good to go.

All reports on Romo have been good and that he is looking sharp. Some of these reports are coming from Romo haters who are always looking for a reason to bash him

Last night, Babe Laufenberg, who is president of the Tony Romo fan club, said that Romo does not look good thus far.

Worse, he said he looks hurt, like he's compensating for his back. He reminded viewers that it was back issues that took Troy Aikman out of the game, not concussions. Back issues ended Jay Novacek's career prematurely, as well as Charles Haley. It is probably the worst thing a player can get because once you have it, it usually never goes away. Look what it did to Larry Bird.

Laufenberg said Romo's throws are all over the place, and for a QB that is known for accuracy and pocket mobility, this could be a problem.

Simply put, without Romo, the season would be over. Thisback issue has to resolve or it's church.

I wish the team would come out with the truth on Romo's surgery. It quite obviously wasn't just a cyst removal.

And playing him against the Dolphins would be stupid. In fact, they might consider holding him for the entire preseason, other than a quarter or two.

This is the first I've heard, or seen, about Romo's throws being all over the place. Other that day 1, he's been spot on.

Not true at all.

"Laughing Boy" may have been a terrible QB and a Commander but he has real instinct for picking up player nuances most of us miss. He is not always right in his analysis but when he talks we should at least listen.

I think it was last year when he said he has lost confidence in Romo and we need a new QB. Every time he is on I change the channel.
