Ma'am, it's being speculated all over the DFW media that there was more to this than just a cyst. It's not my assumption, because I have no idea,

"I wish the team would come out with the truth on Romo's surgery. It quite obviously wasn't just a cyst removal." ---Erod

This is what YOU said in your original post on this thread. Not Babe or anyone else, YOU.

So now after being called on it by quite a few people it's "I have no idea, other people are saying it".

Well, that's a good catch. I meant "possibly", not "obviously". Type too fast a times, but I'll take the dogpile on that one.

But I'm telling you, they are mad speculating around here. I'm hoping Romo has a good preseason game to put it to rest because they're getting me concerned. Orton is done.

Props for owning up. I appreciate the edit or delete button here when I initially post something wrong or poorly put. There were also Dallas media coniptions (sp) about Romo being fat - the facts put that to rest quickly. I think Romo will be ok. Yeah Orton looks pretty bad

I've been flipping through all 3 of the DFW sports radio stations today. I have not heard any mention of Romo's back. Most are talking about him looking sharp in the scrimmage.

He was repeating Babe, at first. Then the OP added fuel to the fire by posting a bunch of misinformation and speculation. So some of the pile being flung at him is his own fault.

Okay. I see your point.

You know me. I'm a big softie.

Babe said more than he was favoring his back, he said he didn't look sharp so that must mean I caught him on his best day at camp because he he looked really sharp to me and I'm going again tomorrow so I'll see.

I think there's a difference between throwing balls two feet into the ground in front of receivers and having an ex NFL QB dissecting throws and the nuances of those throws. He might be a little off and in Babe's eyes that's not sharp because the margin of error is so thin in the NFL but that's not the way it came out.

It's their job to speculate. It seems that all the guys and one girl on the fan do is speculate. That doesn't mean anything though. They are just trying to stir the pot.

Funny. For real though, is he really suppose to sit out for the HOF game?

Last word from Garrett (I didn't listen to his presser today if he had one) was that the decision has not been made on Romo playing in the HOF game. His reasoning for possibly not playing him was that the veterans are on a 4 game pre-season schedule as far as gearing up for the Giants on opening night. The extra pre-season game gives the coaches the chance to better evaluate the young guys on the team. Nothing to do with the cyst removal although there are those who will speculate.

Thanks, I don't buy into any of the cyst talk. I was just exited to see him out there for a few series on Sunday--and now disappointed:(

Last night, Babe Laufenberg, who is president of the Tony Romo fan club, said that Romo does not look good thus far.

Worse, he said he looks hurt, like he's compensating for his back. He reminded viewers that it was back issues that took Troy Aikman out of the game, not concussions. Back issues ended Jay Novacek's career prematurely, as well as Charles Haley. It is probably the worst thing a player can get because once you have it, it usually never goes away. Look what it did to Larry Bird.

Laufenberg said Romo's throws are all over the place, and for a QB that is known for accuracy and pocket mobility, this could be a problem.

Simply put, without Romo, the season would be over. Thisback issue has to resolve or it's church.

I wish the team would come out with the truth on Romo's surgery. It quite obviously wasn't just a cyst removal.

And playing him against the Dolphins would be stupid. In fact, they might consider holding him for the entire preseason, other than a quarter or two.

Maybe you shoulda thrown an "Uh oh" in there.

They are speculating because that's what the local media and ESPN love to do with the Cowboys. Speculate on something possibly negative and they know it will draw in readers, viewers, listeners and Web site clicks. And in the end, they get off scot-free because they will just say 'well, I didn't say that was the case, I just speculated upon it.' The problem is that after a while, their 'reporting' becomes mostly speculation. And when speculation drifts into the spectrum of 'reporting', it starts to imply that their speculation is fact. And that doesn't include the reporters in the media that are purely speculating, but are going to great lengths to actually treat it like it is fact.

I don't have a problem with Babe. I just see this stuff happen all of the time with the Cowboys and it's frustrating as a fan who looks for good, accurate information. And I end up having to take anything being reported with a grain of salt because these guys and gals have massively lowered the bar in their profession.

It's the ole perception becomes reality deal. Perpetrated by the minions who get their Cowboy takes from ESPN and the like instead of watching the on field performance.

Today is all about the death of Kidd Kraddick and the collapse of the Rangers.

The way the o-line looks, probably best to sit him until they get it sorted out. Let Orton take those shots.

Laufenberg is a Garrett homer... He threw Romo under the bus last year to spin his guy, if I recall correctly. I don't know how anybod can take this guy seriously, especially because of his performance in 1990 when Aikman got injured and only needed one game to get into the play-offs. Worst back-up QB I ever saw, sailing ducks all over the place. For him to be talking about QB performance is the height of laughability.
