I am quite amused with some of the "logic" in this thread, yes.

You seem to be the one boasting about how the guy was not in the coverup, but you fail to realize he looked the other way.

I think you seem to have a biased opinion, I think that might have to do, where you live, and I have a suspicion you either went to Penn St, or you are a fan, and can not grasp the fact of what happened. The entire county understands what happened at Penn St, except for the wonderful people who live in Pennsylvania.

..and honestly, speaking of what actually happened, i think im the furthest from the people who don't seem to grasp what happened. Just look at this thread.

People acting like he is "Superman" Joe Paterno and that he should have had Sandusky nailed up on the cross himself and that he could have saved all these children by himself, yada yada yada.. its a bit ridiculous.. just a bit.

And as i said, if ALL the people who knew about any one of Sandusky's acts had simply done even as little as Joe did, and just tell somebody what they saw or heard about.. Sandusky would have been stopped LONG before he was.

(In theory, anyway.. because the police and state welfare agency were informed of a similar act a few years prior to the one Joe was told about and they gave Sandy a verbal slap on the wrist and looked the other way, as well.)

Well he did say something about what he heard.. but i think clearly in this case, it means he should have followed up on what action was being taken about the information he had heard and had McQueary give them.

Joe is dead now and very likely took a lot of guilt to his grave.

Joe's legacy was tarnished along with the innocent kids who's championships were taken away.

None of it is helping the children who that monster abused.

Its just looking for someone else to blame in reaction to Sandusky's horrible crime.

Though it would probably be hard for anyone to believe that a person they have known for decades was a monster.

Call it what you want.. i think of it as more of a "wake up to actual facts" thread.

Some of the responses i've seen here though, clearly indiate that people are wasting their time.. no doubt.

And the article didn't deal with facts. It was an interview with a guy who made claims based on the evidence he saw at the time. What evidence is that? He didn't say.

"I told ya so.." isn't using any kind of logic to form an opinion on the article.. and honestly, i shouldn't even have said it.

I do hope some people read the article and come away realizing that there was no evidence to show that Paterno was involved in any kind of attempt to cover up the information he had been given.

6. And he did not bring up anything when Sandusky continued to have an office at PSU and continued to have young boys around him at the university.

The other outrage came from the lame defense used to excuse Paterno like 'he did talk to the police.' Schultz has *zero* arresting authority in the state of Pennsylvania.

I don't know of anybody that was expecting an 84-year old man to beat up Sandusky. I know some people thought McQuery took the coward's way out. But, I think people do believe that Paterno ignored the fact that he was told that Sandusky was fondling a boy and it seemingly didn't bother him that nothing happened to Sandusky to the point where he could not even bother to simply question law enforcement as to what happened with the situation.

to me, Paterno did all he had to do, but having said that, not sure why he had to have his victories stripped

what he did or did not do had no bearing on the number of wins he earned

The NCAA thought it was fitting that they play the role of "judges of morality".. that's why.

Completely agree.. just pointing out that at one point, law enforcement as far up as the state government knew about Sandusky and chose to do nothing. Completely unreal.

If a mother turns her back and does nothing after finding out that her boyfriend is molesting her teenage daughters, .. and the boyfriend continues to molest her daughters, .. what is your opinion of that mother?

Paterno is the 'mother' in this scenario to me.

She didn't molest her children, .. but she could have stopped it. But she decided not to because it would negatively impact her and/or her standing in the community.

Now she did tell the landlord, who did nothing to stop it.

Should I continue this analogy?
