If Jerry would step down as GM, I'd be all for him hiring Cowher as the head coach. If Jerry stays on as GM, then it still wouldn't matter whom he hires. I'd love seeing Cowhers scowl on the sidelines wearing the star.

I don't think he wants anything to do with Dallas or Jerry. Just not a Dallas guy. I don't even think personally he likes the Cowboys.

I don't think he does either. Who would with Jerry as GM? Young fools is all.

I don't think he likes the Jerry Jones business model.

That and at this point I question his desire to return to coaching.

Like Jimmy Johnson, I think he realizes just how good he has it in TV.

For the record though, I'd love to see it.

I think Bill Cowher is waiting for the Giants job to open up... He has a good relationship with the Mara family and Jerome Bettis said as much a while back

I don't see Cowher being a Dallas guy as well, especially coaching with the Steelers. Larry Brown or SBXXX might have something to do with it but I have to see it to believe it... Cowher would do a great job here as a coach because i believe he will hold players accountable on and off the field... But I have a hard time seeing Cowher in Big D.

Yea, the only way I think he'd consider it is if Jerry seriously took a step back from running the Cowboys. Hiring a GM and letting Stephen run everything else non-football related.

I honestly don't see Jimmy Johnson ever coming back here, but I think both Jimmy Johnson and Jerry Jones would bring back the magic if they teamed up again. Jerry is a great snake oil salesman and is good about getting the players a coach wants. Jimmy's stature would be elevated even more if he got the Cowboys back on track and winning again. I know it isn't likely to happen again, but it would be interesting stuff if it did for sure.

If Jimmy did come back that would mean Jerry's turned over all things football to the HC. I'd be all in favor of that.

I think that Gruden would be the target if Jerry brought someone in.

If he could bring Wisenhunt and Lebeau with him, then I'm all for it.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if Jerry were to have such a hard time firing Garrett that he brought in a GM to do it for him? I know, we can dream.

Maybe that's why he hasn't fired JG. He's afraid he wouldn't be able to find a good coach if he did.

Given his track record, it may be a rare instance of self-awareness. But then again, we're talking about the guy who "only" hired Parcells to "get an ****** stadium built."

The only "retread" I would think had a fighting chance in Dallas, but and it is a BIG but, no way would he come here without complete control of football operations. Do I think he would be interested, maybe. I would have never imagined Parcells joining the Cowboys, but I guess money talks.
