E-Lie Throws Another League Leading INT - Now 11 More Than Romo

Just like KJJ, you got nothing. All you E-Lie lovers do is bring up rings and ignore his entire body of work. It takes a team to win a Super Bowl. 52 other guys along with She-Lie got rings as well.

Lots of guys have rings. Lots of guys that arent great nor elite have rings. Rings are a very small part of the equation.

Bring something real to the table.

Timmy Smith has a ring. Timmy Smith set a Super Bowl rushing record. Yet Timmy Smith only has 602 yds rushing for his career. A ring says very little.

I'm sorry, but this continuous and ignorant example of a comparison player like Timmy Smith winning a Super Bowl and Eli Manning's 2 Super Bowl MVP's is both laughable and sad.

Rings are a very big part of the equation when comparing QB's who are playing in the same division especially when one QB has more SB wins than the other QB has playoff wins. It was Eli out performing Romo in 2 elimination games that helped earn him those 2 rings. He's out dueled Romo head to head in the most critical games they've faced each other in. You need to bring something real to the table.

Im sure to a simple mind it is.

To a simple mind.. Eli did nothing to help his team to those two super bowl victories.

To a simple mind.. the obsession fueled by a misplaced hatred for another team's player would cause them to make thread after thread after thread of the same junk.

But hey.. that's just my simple opinion.

:)

Hey, dog, it goes both ways. The team did nothing to help Eli win those SB's, right? That is JMO.

Team game, dog.

No one player wins or loses anything.

Word up.

Word straight up! That is why I posted yesterday that you cannot compare QB's...you just can't.

Eli, 2 SB's....Romo sucks. Does that make sense, really? One man has a better team, the other man, not so much.

I have seen you characterize and summarize posts of other people in this fashion over and over.

And yet I have seen maybe one person on this board who actually said Romo sucks.

One has to wonder if this is eye of the beholder type of stuff, or factual.

BOTTOM LINE: Because of two of the most IMPROBABLE title runs in the HISTORY of American sports, Eli Manning is considered elite. Therefore, he can rank 31st among NFL starting quarterbacks in passing efficiency and gets excuses made for him.

Eli has two Super Bowl MVP's because the league couldn't give out five or six MVP's to the Giants defenders in those games. To think Manning's rings make him better than Romo is to suggest Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson (they have rings!!) are better than Dan Marino or Jim Kelly. Hell; Rex Grossman once got the Bears to the Super Bowl. If David Tyree didn't catch a ball on the side of his helmet, that's what Eli would be right now. Rex Friggin' Grossman.

I don't think Romo sucks, and Eli may or may not have a better team.. but he clearly stepped up his play in the postseason when his team won those two super bowls.

I don't know if you have said it, if this forum had a search function, I could find you 100's of them.

Well, I guess we get to see if the Cowboys can step up, starting Sunday.

Im just amused at WPB because he really thinks Eli didn't play a major part in those postseason victories his team earned.

Timmy Smith was an RB not a QB. LOL You think mentioning an RB is going to bolster your argument?

When your entire position rests on "A RING" why yes, yes it does bolster the "argument." When a fallacious position is based solely on rings then any player that has a "ring" is relevant to the "argument." Numerous players with "rings" can be brought into the "argument" but ONE example, like Timmy Smith, is all that is needed to demonstrate how weak the "ring argument" is.

Once again you amuse yourself based on your misperceptions. I have never said E-Lie didnt play a major part. Ive simply pointed out the obvious and that is that E-Lie isnt all that great and his entire body of work is testimony to the truthfulness of that statement. Sure he has rings, but so do a lot of other players that arent great/elite. The "ring" does not make a player great, even a QB. What makes a player great is his great play consistently, not just a few "spotlight" games where things happen to go his way.

Some people get it, and some dont. Well stated.

Only if you ignore the obvious. When a position is based solely on a "ring" then any player with a ring is relevant to the discussion. You cant have it both ways and say the "ring" factor only applies to certain players but not others. The entire E-Lie is great praise around here is always based on the "ring" factor. So, whats laughable and sad is that you cant even recognize what the E-Lie lovers are saying or arguing for. Its like the blind following the blind.

I know at least two of us read this... And I seriously doubt there are any Eli Lovers in this forum. We just don't understand the hatred that is so bad that a person would continuously start a thread about his interceptions. He isn't our QB so we don't care but we, while thinking Romo is a decent QB also rcognize that Eli elevated his game when he needed to and got his team the ultimate goal. Even if it's not about the rings go back and watch what he did during his runs to the Super Bowl. Raggedy Eli was (dare I say it). Romoesque in his play, escapability, accuracy, and a real field general. He was what Tony hasn't been so hate him all you want but... Why? Because the media gives him a pass for two rings and we refuse to rag on him after he accomplished what out stat champion has not?
