Does AP want to play for Cowboys?

you have it right.
doesn't matter where he wants to play because he is playing where the salary is right.

i absolutely believe he'd love to be a Cowboy but we are no where near in a salary cap spot to be able to add him.

Of course he'd love to be a cowboy. He's from this area. But he costs too much and his best days are probably behind him. He won't put up numbers like he did last year again.

I'd pass, if we were going to spend 11M on one offensive player, I'd rather it be another elite WR that can line up opposite of Dez.

My only issue is money.. which pretty much means, we ain't getting him

Mr. Modern Day Slavery..................he'll break anyones bank.

Peterson doesn't have much longer as a premier back, IMO. He turns 29 in the off-season.

There have only been 44 performances in which a 30 year old RB runs more than 1000 yards in a season
There have only been 22 performances in which a 31 year old RB runs more than 1000 yards in a season
There have only been 11 performances in which a 32 year old RB runs more than 1000 yards in a season

His contract probably wouldn't be worth it for any team really.

AD is a special, game changing player. He and Romo together would be incredible. How I wish we could afford him.

In retrospect, should we have given up 2 No. 1s and a No. 2 for the rights to draft AP? I remember the Boyz needing a running back when he entered the draft. But then the price would have been too steep.

Absolutely. You want to talk about a playaction that is poison to the D in both ways?

They have to choose- as the old saying goes- which way are you going to die? Cancer or gun shot?

Peterson has 2015 rushing attempts for his career, which ranks 36th all-time. The average number of career rushing attempts for the 35 guys ahead of him is 2718 attempts. Does he have 700 rushing attempts left in him? Can he perform at his high level for those remaining carries? The other active running backs who are of similar age and have around the same number of career rushing attempts aren't dominant guys. That would be Frank Gore, Steven Jackson and Willis Magahee. He probably can do better than them and he can definitely help Dallas. Just not at the salary he commands.

Per ESPN (I know):

What do you guys think. I love AP, but afraid he would break the bank.

The Cowboys half broken the bank with a lot of other lesser, ner'do wells since Jerra took over.
Jerra, if you see a chance, git him!
This might prove to be the "secret sauce" we've been waiting for.
Also, give Kiffie and Marinelli a health corps of defenders next year and look out!!!!

dumb comparison. peterson isnt anybody, or like any of the backs before. he doesnt live off his speed or just power, he does it both at a elite level. has not much wear and tear, didnt play much in college. hes got easily 3-4 more elite years left. one is enough to win the bowl...
