Since the media and America won't get the chance to see if Romo chokes or not, lets push for a de-flex

Uuuuugh.

The first chance I get to come on here and read some Cowboys news, I see this.

Though, like some have already posted, after seeing him play the last several weeks, it shouldn't be surprising. His back has probably been giving him problems throughout the year. We don't know that for certain, but it makes sense.

From what I've been reading about herniated disks, it happens when some of the soft center of the rubbery like cushions between the vertebrae pushes out from a crack in the tougher exterior of the disk. Only 10% of the people who have herniated disks need surgery.

More stuff from medical websites:

Surgery is usually performed for people who have nerve damage, severe weakness or numbness, or if their pain is not improved after nonsurgical treatment. The surgical treatment involves making an incision and removing some disk material. It's not recommended if the herniated disc only causes back pain as the surgery is mainly for relieving leg symptoms such as pain and numbness. It does not relieve back pain.

So, based on that, it seems that this has been an issue for a while. He's probably been in pain for several weeks, and now it has progressed to having pain and numbness in his legs. All of those hits he's taken over the years due to our turnstile offensive line must be taking their toll on him.

I think they're saying he's day to day because there might be a chance of him playing, albeit a slim one, if the pain and numbness leaves by the end of the week. It's probably better if he doesn't play, though.

Nothing else left to say except thanks, Jerry. Your thrifty attention to the guys that protect Romo has finally caught up to you and bit you in the ***.

This is what we brought Orton in for, so lets see what he can do. Hopefully someone will step up and help will this team to victory :)

So if Romo's back has been bothering him all season that makes him staying in the New Orleans game and even the Chicago game until Orton came in that more frustrating on this coaching staff!

Okay, I need to know who thought this. Not that I don't believe, but that is really an outrageous statement.

I've been critical of Romo, no doubt, but has anyone dared to suggest he needed benching or that Orton is better?

It's simple for me. I realize that AT THIS TIME, Romo gives us – hands down – the best chance to win, but I have for some time now, wanted the organization to bring some young QBs in as potential Heir Apparents or at least, to put some heat on Romo.

That feeling hasn't changed, but Romo being out is undoubtedly a potential fatal blow.

Romo out, just means our season enden in week 16 with the slight twist that although we won this injury probably saved Garret's Job.

Well at some point Romo needs to sit down and think about his health 5'years from now.

Will he be able to pick up his kids?

I'm sure his wife will be in his ear a little after this.

Sadly all I thought when I heard this today was here is Jerry's excuse to keep Garrett. I want to see Romo with new direction.

A Herniated Disc for a Qb that's about to turn 34 years old is serious business. Tony could barely hand the ball off yesterday, I don't know why Garrett was sitting up there saying he's day to day. Tony is about to be shut down for quite a while if he has to have surgery.

Defense is the worst in NFL history so it's not like we were going to miss much in the playoffs. Honestly this team needs to be in rebuild mode anyway on both sides of the ball.

The Latest On Romo’s Back From Inside Cowboys HQ

Garrett’s prognosis may be too rosy. Sources say the determining factor is whether a bulging or herniated disc is pressing against a nerve in such a way as to impact his motor skills or just cause pain. As well as Romo played in leading Sunday’s dramatic 24-23 victory at
Washington, he did appear affected by more than pain. And when the team returned to DFW, he struggled to move from the charter flight to his car and did so with the assistance of friend and teammate Jason Witten.

Sources also tell us that despite public denials, the back injury is indeed related to the reported “cyst-removal’’ surgery of last spring. 105.3 The Fan reported then that the procedure performed on Romo did indeed include the removal of a cyst but that it was near enough to the spine to be more invasive that the team reported.

105.3 The Fan is told that this injury and any ensuing surgery is not career-threatening

Gameover in this very thread:

"9ers pick is an educated guess. No need for me to be ashamed of that pick. They've only been a top 4 team the past three seasons.

I do believe Orton is vastly superior. Only worry is no tune up, thrown into pressure game your hero was gonna lose!"

Not that he's the only one...

Gameover, UFCRules, KJJ, Animosity, Clove, etc. The usual suspects. I had a friend about 20 years ago who hated Emmitt. Claimed Emmitt had stolen his girlfriend in college. Wonder if it is a similar situation with them and Romo. Maybe he stole their girlfriends, or dissed their sisters, girlfriends, ex-wives, moms. Who knows? I hope it's not a racial thing. I hope it's simply a lack of intelligence on their parts.
